finished chemo!! hoorah!!
Brief history: diagnosed with Stage III rectal cancer Dec 2002. Chemoradiation, surgery, chemo. Recurrence in left lung spring 2005. Surgery then chemo. Recurrence right lung Dec 2006. Surgery, then chemo. I had a PET half-way through this last round of chemo and all clear. Next scans in 2-3 mos.
For all those currently undergoing treatment -- hang in there! It does end!
I am feeling overwhelmed with joy today -- and looking forward to a family holiday in Hawaii in August to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. So glad I can make it.

You are a lucky duck! You've been through a lot, and you deserve a really great vacation!
In 3 weeks, Lord willing, I will join you in celebrating the end of FOLFOX. I was diagnosed with stage III rectal cancer in November of last year.
Thanks for the encouragement. It really does end. Imagine that! Sometimes it's hard to believe.
Celebrating in Hawaii. Not bad.0 -
TARA, WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
I am SO happy for you! What a great feeling of accomplishment as well as a deep sigh of relief. You truly are a champion!
I love it when folks come back and share their victories. Sometimes, people come here, get their advice, and we don't hear from them anymore. WE NEED TO HEAR THESE STORIES!!!!!!!!
Maybe pencil in the Palooza for 2008? Hawaii is a GREAT way of rewarding yourself for a job well done!
Best wishes for many, many more!!!!!!!

Congrats! I just finished 6 months of chemo as well. I am stage 4 with colon and liver surgery done. I had the same protocol and am planning on taking my wife and kids to Hawaii (Kauai) in August as well. I am waiting nervously for the results of my CT scan done Thursday to see what the verdict for the next 3 months is. All my best and way to go.
