Hmmm, what is going on?
What prompted this is that some folks who have recently appeared are giving others the feeling that they are not what they appear to be. I guess my question is why on earth would someone not disclose their relationship with cancer? Afterall, this IS a CANCER SUPPORT web site. This is not a place to play, "Guess who I am!" or "Let me make you feel creeped out!" Maybe it's just a case of a person who has no real friends, only virtual acquaintances on this site. Maybe it's someone who has previously burned a proverbial bridge on this site in the past and is getting some glory out of playing mind games with others. Maybe it is an unemployed former librarian of Russian decent whose mother had cancer but cannot seem to stay away even after offending SO many. Hmmm....I wonder. Actually, I am not the only one wondering. Many think that this person is a few sandwiches shy of a picnic and cannot help but wonder if this person is secretly crying out for help. Anyone in the psychiatry field that can offer some free services?
Anyway....I hope the others who have also noticed this chimes in as well. Nobody needs to feel like someone is being violated by stalker-types.
Stacy
P.S. And yes, I do realize I probably just opened up a HUGE can of worms, but hey, that's exactly what I do best!

You've drawn me out of the woodwork with this post. And peaked my interest, to say the least. Guess I have to go read all the recent posts to find out what you are talking about.
How have you been?
Barb
I've been great! How have you been? Yeah, appears the psycho ward let one escape, and has wandered onto this site. The world is full of 'em I guess, why not here, too?!?!? lol
Hugs,

Oh, wow, look who is talking!!!
If somebody needs psychiatric help, it is obviously you. This is really great story about a librarian of Russian decent, quite entertaining. This is sounds like your diagnosis is schizophrenia. Maybe it is aliens from Mars came here, do you believe it also? Or maybe it is Osama himself. I suggest you get psychiatric help as soon as possible before you become dangerous to yourself and others. Really.
Just to clear your thoughts for today though, I have been born in New York. My parents were born in Midwest. I have nothing to do with libraries, I work in the medical field. Cancer has nothing to do with my mother but somebody else in my family. If you really, really want to know who, OK, I will ease your curiosity, it is my brother.
How do I know so many things about people here? I read many, many posts here. I am very good in doing research and this is what I did. I have come to this site only few weeks ago.
So, you see you definitely need help. Quickly.
With this said, I need to say that this is not really a CANCER SUPPORT site. It seems like some people here are full of hatred. This Russian librarian who obviously was on this site some time in the past, really has got into you. I am wondering if he/she was able to tell you the truth of who some people here really are.
And a couple of other interesting facts I noticed. This site has rulers. They decide who can post here and who can not, where do they have their next party (Palooza), who they support and who they don't, etc. This is public forum here. These rulers: you don't own this site, stop your control.
Also, the support on this site is given to only selected people who, I guess, these rulers approve. Support is given mainly to people who decide to undergo tradional medical treatment, but there is no support for those who decide to forgo them. The support is very bias.
American Cancer Society should look into this board and really investigate what is going on here.0 -

Hi Everyone,
I hope that I don't offend anyone by what I'm going to say.
I find the nature of this post really offensive to me and wrong.
Yes, I really like to have an idea of who I'm talking to about personal things, but the other side is that if the person is helpful and doing no harm then it really doesn't matter. Maybe this person has been hurt in the past and doesn't feel comfortable disclosing personal information. Everyone has a reason for how they act and what they do. Yes, there are people with mental illness who do need help, but we don't know anything about this person so calling them crazy is inappropriate in my opinion.
Personally I think that everyone could benefit from some therapy, but this forum isn't the place to call people crazy and have a war of words. I just don't understand what the point of this is!!!

My intention is to let people know that they cannot send cryptic e-mails to people and make them feel that they are being intimidated. That is EXACTLY how this person makes others feel. I have gotten easily 11 e-mails from folks wondering why this person would be like this. Additionally, this is not the first time this happened. I don't believe it's fair on this side of things to feel like someone is intentionally making themselves to be something they aren't.
I'll be the bigger person and totally apologize if all this person's postings and e-mails are simply miscommunication. But my question remains, How can SO many people feel the same vibe?

"So many people" you are referring to is Kerry, Usakat, Kanort, and Scouty. Those are the ones who harassed me with their emails, demanding personal information from me. Those who were intimidated, by the way, apologized for their mistake.0 -
Well I see a new can of worms have been opened.
I don't post often but I do read to see how everyone is doing. Not often do we have someone join our board who feels the need to be extra private of who they are. . . So " information " when one chooses to keep his or hers identity under wraps it just raises some antennas here in our CSN family.
Please use this board with respect.0 -
lmao..........whatever. There are more than those listed, so you do not know all that you imply. But remain calm. It's all good. It always is, and always will be.AuthorUnknown said:Be a big person and say the truth.

No, it will not always be. Your and your partners of this site rulling time is over. This is public forum. I do not like to receive threatening cryptic emails telling me that someone knows everything about me and then brings my children into it. When my child is mentioned in an email from a mysterious secretive person, I take offense. Also, when my friends are insulted in the email I become furious.
I suggest perhaps, Information, you should make public your cryptic email to me and your nasty mention of others here at this site and your comments about my daughter. If we want to pull out the trash, bring it on.
No one insulted you here. I never called you creepy. I only asked who you were. We have always encouraged each other to give information so we can better understand and help each other. YOU have made it kind of scary to give much information or seek help because you use that information to attack in your private emails.
Jamie, I never said anything negative to anyone here, but perhaps you did not receive the type of email I did from Information. I will gladly produce my notes to Information which tells her/him that we welcome them to this site and tell us a little about yourself. Instead I get nasty threats and insinuations about my daughter, my mental health and my friends. Yes, I think that is weird and I always will think it is weird.0 -

I am fullfilling your request. Here are the messages I sent to you. As you see, there is no insults towards your daughter, only sincer wish that she is doing good.
**********************************************
Oh, so I see.... You are just a messenger. It is a gentle Kay (kanort) who was instigating you?
All I can say is "Wow".
Oh, well, you tell those who say I am "creepy" that they have nothing to worry about. I just have good reading skills, good research skills, very strong attention to details (really, I am famous for it). And so I know many things (almost everything including their life styles) about almost everybody here by just using those skills I mentioned on this site.
I am not a criminal or a terrorist. I am not a sales person.
Even though I think you need to be kind to sales people even if they try to sell you something because they are just trying to make their living and feed their babies. You need to forgive them.
Anyway, back to my list. I am not from FBI or CIA or those places. I am not on the Alkaida payroll. I have never travelled to those areas. Oh, my God, what else? I am human being with 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, 2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth.
And I hope your daughter's marriage is still good. Oh...I hear the voice...creepy... Don't worry. I read about your daughter's wedding on this site. So, you see all information I have about everybody here is from this site.
So, sleep in peace. Don't worry. Stress is not good for you.
***********************************************
This message I sent to you before the above:
I don't know which "eleonora" you are talking about. Obviously your fantasy is running high. Antidepressants perhaps? They will do it.
Who do you think you are to judge who has best intentions and who does not? Maybe you are the one who does not have the best intentions, who knows....
In any case, I have no desire to speak to you. Stop sending me emails.0 -
This is beginning to sound quite dangerous. Apparently several of us have had a few disturbing exchanges.StacyGleaso said:Hi Jamie,

Let us please remember why we are all here and reinforce this to new-comers...We are a cancer SUPPORT group! While this group "meets" in a cyber environment, we each write from our own homes or places of work with a feeling that we are all here together. Yes, we meet in a virtual conference room, but in a spirit of togetherness.
Most of us share intimate details with each other because it helps others as well as ourselves. We do this with a sincere desire to make a meaningful connection and have a positive experience. Our purpose is to support and encourage, nothing else. When intimate and specific details are used for the purpose of intimidation or to scare someone, it is out of bounds and must be stopped. Cyber bullying or stalking is dangerous and has no place here.
Information - you have seemingly touched a few of us regular and long time visitors in the same manner, which has left us feeling very uncomfortable. Stacy makes a good point - with so many of us with similar impressions, perhaps you may want to re-think your approach. You may consider a new attitude or a different support group.
To all, please stop the name calling and this escalating brawl. We join to fight cancer, not each other.
Thank you all for the ongoing support we share.0 -

We are all different and all have different relationships with cancer and one another. But the common thing is support to one another - that means sharing your personal history (not necessarily the gory details, just "why I'm here" and "I'd like to say hello"), asking for help and giving help - as appropriate. I've been a member of this group for two years and all types of people are acceptable, but when someone shows up without introducing themselves, it just doesn't feel right. Information - if you just got off on the wrong start, then please just introduce yourself and we will all appreciate the medical knowledge you have to provide. I find emails to individuals inappropriate if you haven't yet publicly introduced yourself.
Take care all,
Betsy0 -
Let the truth come out. Nobody intimidated, cyber bullyed or stalked you. All I said was that I hope you like your new place in South Carolina. I have got this information from your new husband Bob's post which you could not find but I found it for you and you have admitted making a mistake.usakat said:This is beginning to sound quite dangerous.
