What do you do with spasm?

What do you do when you're having hours of contraction of muscles down there? It feels weird. It feels like I have to go every minute.
History:
Rectal cancer 4cm from anal verge 3/06
Radiation and Chemo therapy 5/06
Temp Eliostomy-creation of colonic j-pouch 7/06

Have you told your doc? I, as a woman, was schooled in the art of kegel muscle exercises when preparing for childbirth...lol...they worked surprisingly well to counteract the spasms...2 years post surgery...removal of rectum and sig colon, modified j-pouch with part of colon...I have as much control as someone who has never battled the beast...
Good luck with this....time and a positive look to the future seem to work wonders...
