Update on my Mom's case

Hi all. Onco Surgeon checked my Mom's PET Scan and said lesions are very operable and that are nor big, and recommended debulking surgery for next Thursday and a port put in her abdomen for IP chemotherapy at the same time. I do not know how long surgery will last, I do know that the IP chemo will be done for an hour and that this was what he suggested was the best approach for my Mom. He said that she will be needing more treatments after that (I'm guessing more IP chemo). I've heard IP chemo is very effective...any comments?
In fact I have read about it a lot and thought this wasn't done in Mexico, and I'm happy for an aggresive approach.
What I worry the most now is the operation... my Mom is 75 yo, she looks strong, but any how surgery has it's risks.
We would love a chain of prayers for this Thursday morning. Tks Liz.

    Count me in for Thursday morning prayers (and before). I was worried about my mom also when she was 80 and had to endure 2 surgeries. But, as your mom she was strong and came through just fine. The report is very promising, and I've also heard success stories with IP, although I don't personally know much about it.

    This sounds pretty good for you Mom. I'll "tune in" for Thursday morning, also!

    I know a woman who had IP chemo (the first at the hospital that she was operated on at) more than 10 years ago. She doesn't really know what she would have been staged at, but guesses IIIc. She recurred about a year ago, but has always been a shining example, and feels that the IP gave her a real leg up on the fight. I hope the same holds for your Mom!
