Hi All! I haven't posted in awhile but I wanted to let you know that I am back home from the hospital after having surgery to have my ovaries removed and two repairs from the collapse of two of my pelvic organs. The surgery was pretty involved and I spent 4 days in the hospital. The doctors feel that the collapses I suffered were a result of the chemotherapy breaking down my connective tissue. I will be off work for at least another two months as I recover. I am hopeful that this will be the last procedure or treatment that I will have to endure as a result of bc. I still am battling chronic bursitis in my hips and carpal tunnel in both hands. Orhto says blame it on chemo. More reminders of just how strong those drugs are. I am not complaining because I still feel the benefits outweigh the risks and would do it all over again. I just feel like I am a 43 year old woman trapped in a 90 year old body! I hope all of you are staying strong. Take care, Karen

    Karen,

Good to have you back with us. The effects of chemo are very tough... but I am sure that your 43 year old body... will be back with you... It just takes time. I know I had many months where I constantly felt like I was 90.... but I have refound my 50 year old body.. and boy does it feel better...

Be good to yourself and give your body and mind time to heal...

    Take care... God bless...

That's the spirit! I, too, have my little reminders from the fights...the bc rads left me with a shoulder that remains sore off and on, and a beautiful, dusty rose colored breast on occasion..hehehehe.
I agree, the benefits (living) outweighed the risks (a few) for both the rectal and the breast cancer treatments... And I am 51 years young!!!

    Hugs, Kathi
