Has anyone used the pill they use for chemotherapy treatment? I was wondering if it is possible to use it alone for chemo treatment. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

    hi Mis37,

My daughter was on pills only during her most recent attempt to treat her Reoccurring Breast Cancer. She was on Xeloda and Cytoxin for 24 weeks, in (8) 3 week cycles, she was getting good results for the first 12 weeks, the tumors were getting significantly smaller, but during the last 12 weeks the process reversed and the tumors grew again and an additional tumor was found.

It appears that people have different results from the same treatments. So it's impossible for anyone to say how another would do with the same treatment. One thing I feel very stongly about, is all the other things you do to take care of yourself, proper nutrition, exercise, attitude, prayer and not necessarily in that order are very important in beating the Cancer. The Chemo with pills only, were much easier to take (for my daughter) than the IV form she had take previously. Making the decision if you are given a choice can be a difficult thing to do. Good Luck with your treatment, may God Bless you and guide you in your quest to get well.

I was in a clinical trial that had different arms. One was Cytoxan IV the other was a pill. Was that the chemo pill you mean? I was the IV group so I didn't take the pill. But had I taken it, I would have needed an antibiotic as well.

By the way, Len, if you don't normally pray, don't feel you have to start. If it works for you, go for it, but there is no credible evidence that prayer changes a darn thing. Attitude may work in as much it gives you the will to fight and not accept. But those cancer cells don't care at all. Nutrition and exercise, however, are accumulating a lot of support. They change the gene structure of those cells. After conventional treatment, they are our best bet.

    Hugs.

    Lesley,

Please, reread the 2nd paragraph. Tread lightly, my new friend. A person's perception is their reality. You have such good info to share that I know helps others.

The only people I have heard take this drug treatment are those with blood cancer like lukemia. This is more to keep at a dull roar than actually illiminate the disease. I have known people who have been on this drug chemo for years. Some eventually have had to do a much more invasive form of chemo later.
