Sad Day Thoughts and Prayers

Yesterday, my beautiful mother; Sandra Goodman - age 70, from Enfield, CT passed away.
At the age of 57 - she was given 1 year to live - with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. She fought a valiant, 14 year battle.
Everyone that knew her, loved her. She always had a smile, no matter what. When she couldn't sleep at night, she would bake and bring the goodies to her doctor's appn'ts to share with all the wonderful people who helped her along the way.
She was a strong advocate for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. She helped plan and participated in Survivors Day, and walked in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. She wrote articles for Conversations!, the International Newsletter for Those Fighting Ovarian Cancer. She was interviewed for a segment called Beyond the Headlines on Fox 61 News. She helped comfort many people who shared this disease or had a friend or loved one with Ovarian Cancer.
I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers when I posted weeks ago. She was very pleased when I told her about it.
God bless you all as you continue your own battles. God speed on a cure.

Beth:
I am so sorry you have lost your wonderful mother. What a strong, inspirational woman - I know you will miss her a great deal. Soon, your heartache will be replaced with many wonderful memories, and the Lord will give you the strength to carry on, as He had given her.
My deepest sympathy.

Beth, my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. It is amazing to her what a wonderful brave woman she was. I think God blessed her for so many years.. still I imagine how hard this is. But think that she is know whith our Lord with no pain, no worries at all. When you are feeling better may I ask how many recurrences she had and if she was treated with and trial medications. We live in Mexico and my beautiful Mommy has stage IIIB OVCA, I would like to know this because in case recurrance Mexico has no trials.. just different combinations of chemos known in the market.
May God bring you and your family peace. LIZ0 -
I am so sorry about your loss. Your mother sounds like someone who will live on in your memories of her as well as the memories of others whose lives she touched. You are surrounded by angels....Roann0

Beth, I am saddened at the lost of your mother, but am heartened that she was able to live for so long after being given such a poor prognosis. I'm sure the women on this board have all benefitted by something she accomplished in some way, and I'm sure she helped inspire others.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.0
