Wow this has been a wonderful site. I have a lot of family and friends but none really know what I'm going through. It has been great reading all the different stories that are similar to mine. I was just wondering how in 1 month my life has changed so fast. I feel great and can't understand how this can be in me. I really love this board and I think I made a ton of new friends. My vocabulary has changed so much from my everyday homework with my kids to 5fu,stages and etc. Thank- you again and I'll keep you posted

This IS a wonderful site with truly supportive people. They have helped me tremendously with their encouraging words , advice , shared knowledge and prayers. Post often and let us know how you are doing. God Bless.0

You have come to the right place. We have all been where you are now. Remember to hang in ther, it does get much better with time. It has been almost 4 years since my diagnosis. where does the time go? I thought I would never get better, but I did and you will too.

Oh my gosh! When I read your post, it seemed like it was me about 1 1/2 years ago. I also was found to have a small tumor in the sigmoid colon -- the doctor thought it was stage II, although I did have to have a colon resection. Following surgery he said everything looked good and he expected the news to be good. Once I was home from the hospital I got "the call" that turned my world inside out. 2 lymph nodes were involved. I have 3 girls and all I could think of that night was what this would do to them.
Well....it hasn't been the easiest year. And there have been plenty of tears, fears, scares, etc. ... but there has also been love, smiles, good times.
I have to tell you that the one thing I really wanted was for someone to say "everything will be ok". No one did. So I need to tell you ... everything will be ok. That doesn't mean it will always turn out your way, or that something won't go wrong...but that it will be ok because you are loved and have support.
So...the good news is that on this site you will hear from lots of people who have gone through the same thing and who are surviving for a long time! I am! year and 5 months past dianosis and am clear so far. I see the dr. again tomorrow and am praying for another "all clear".
If you want to feel encouraged ... find a chart for the new 6th edition staging for colon cancer (it sounds like you are IIIA like me) and look at those statistics only. They are much more positive than some older stats.0
