Hi, I have not posted for a long time but my husband was dx in July 2003 and has done very well until now. We are a little concerned as his CEA levels have been going up gradually and he has to have another done next month along with his annual scan. In the meantime, I was dx with lymphoma and have just completed six months of chemo/monoclonal antibody treatment. I am feeling well apart from a slight pain in the left lower side of my pelvis. This pain had actually caused me to go to the doctor in the first place. No cause was found and then the lymphoma showed up on the ct scan. The pain went away...even though it was located far from the lymphoma... and came back after six months. Now, I have to have a colonoscopy and am very nervous about the possible outcome. I have dealt with the lymphoma dx very well and managed to keep upbeat throughout treatment (apart from the odd days when I felt pretty bad) but now, I feel quite fed up! I feel even if the colonoscopy comes out OK (if it does not, then that is a whole new ball game!) I still have lymphoma and we still have concerns about my husband! There is no end. The lymphoma is indolent so incurable so it will never go away. I will just have to get treated when it recurs. Sorry, just a little rant! There is only so much a soul can take! I see some familiar names on the forum and glad to see so many doing well. That is encouraging.

Love to all, Ali

Hi Ali: sorry for your additional burden. i'm on mAbs.. Avastin & Panatimub (SP)and on a 2 month vacation to see if side effects resolve.
I don't know much about lymphoma, but hopefully you will maintain until they come up with the cure. Ranting helps too; there are quite a few posters that haven't shown up in a while..dunno where they are... bud

    Ali,

I am so glad to hear from you, and sorry things have been so tough. I know this is a double whammy for and your husband. Come rant and rave all you want. You can even email me and rant, you deserve that.

Please know that you have been thought about often. Whenever one of the "early semi-colons" goes missing for a while, we all get concerned. Don't stay away - we are here for you and your husband.

    You'll be in my prayers....

    Hugs,

    Kerry

    Ali,

I'm sorry to hear that things are rough for you right now. It sounds like you are going through a lot. You seem very tough, however, it is okay to feel helpless and vulnerable at times. After all, you are human. Try to hang in there. Things have got to get better. Maybe there is a different cause to this pain you are having, and maybe your husband's CEA levels have risen for another reason other than the cancer. Keep us posted. You and your husband are in my prayers.

    God bless,

    -Lee-

    "Hi Bud,
Thanks for the update on Ali. I can't believe what she has gone through; her rant seems positively minor given the circumstances. Please let her know that I think of her and am sending many positive thoughts in their direction, wishing good things for her and hubby.
Good to hear that you continue to hang in there; I am in awe of your courage in your ongoing battle."
