This morning nine years ago I was waking up in recovery from surgery the previous evening to remove a tumour of the descending colon including six cancerous nodes. So begins year ten. I remember my discussion with the doctor that morning. He told me that I would almost certainly succumb to the cancer and I replied " I don't know what I'll die from doc but it's not cancer". He laughed and wished me well. I wish you all well,Ron.

Ron: You are just the inspiration I needed today (3rd day into chemo cycle and feeling kinda crappy). Thanks for the reminder that the strength and determination of the human spirit has a lot to do with recovery. Monica0

Ron,
Congratulations on another year old friend! When I found this site you were at your 5 year mark, and you gave me such hope. Now here I am 8 years out from cancer and feeling great and cancer free. You were one of the only truly long-term survivors that I knew of (other than celebs like Daryl Strawberry-pro baseball player). Your words of encouragement and empathy have always been appreciated. Keep living and proving that Dr. wrong....I will too!0 -
