Ahoy, Sally -
I am a displaced FL resident myself. Currently living in Washington, DC, but I've been a FL boy since 1984. Lived in St Pete, Panama City, Key West and Orlando. Spent Christmas in Punta Gorda. Where do you hail from?
Welcome to the SemiColons - sorry to meet you under these circumstances, but glad you're here!
As for the whole hair loss thing, chemo treats everyone differently. My hair thinned so I just wore it very short. Of course that's more "normal" for a guy. But then again, many very cool women are wearing their hair quite short these days. And being in FL, you might never want to grow it out again!0 -
I was born in St.Pete. And spent the first 6 yrs in Punta Gorda, then back to St.Pete for the last 26 yrs. I have stage 4 colorectal cancer. I'm a single mom of a 12 yr old son and a 5 yr old daughter. And as a former control freak, I'm learning to take one day at a time now.. And learning what is really important and what isn't. Lets just say I'm no longer the control freak.LOL..

Hi Sally,
Welcome. I am also a Stage IV survivor. You will find that there are many younger people on this board. I was diagnosed when I was 31 and now I am almost 37! I have been cancer free for over two years now. Anyway, you will get through all of this as frightening as it may seem at tims. I know another lady that has survived 8 years and her oldest daughter is heading off to college next year! So hang in there and ask whatever questions come up!

Hi Sally and welcome. I grinned when I read what you wrote about "former control freak". That has been one of the biggest lessons/changes for me, too. And I don't regret it at all. I'm glad you found this group. Full of information and support.sallyg0119 said:I was born in St.Pete. And spent the first 6 yrs in Punta Gorda, then back to St.Pete for the last 26 yrs.
