Done with chemo

Hi All,

I was diagnosed in August 2006, had a resection and was staged at 2a. After a brief hiccup due to a lower bowel blockage which sent me back to the hospital for a week and an introduction to the NG tube (very special experience), my recovery has been very good.

After my fourth infusion I developed a gi infection which sent me back to the hospital. When the infection was brought under control my lower gi tract stopped working so I got another ng tube for a couple of days. After 9 days in the hospital my lower gi tract started working again and they sent me home on Christmas day.

I met with my onc yesterday and we agreed that continuing chemo was not in my best interest. So I will be getting ct scans every 6 months or so and blood work. Other than that I am feeling good and ready to get on with my life.

    CONGRATS on completing on your treatment. I completed mine on 3 Nov 06. It is nice to get back to your "normal" but great life. GOOD LUCK and keep all of here up to date.

    Ouch you've been through a lot! Geez! But hey, I think your optimism is in tact and now you can go on with the rest of your life. Congrats!

    Hi Mark -

    It sounds like you are doing the right thing. And being Stage II, your outcome will no doubt be great. Have a good time getting over the chemo and on with life!
