Restless Legs

I got restless legs syndrome on the days that I had Taxol treatments. It was caused by the dose of I think Benedryl. (I apparently made most people sleepy but for some of us it caused the opposite effect. I couldn't sit still for the infusion. I would pace all over the floor. After we figured this out they cut way back on my dose and it got to where I was just jumpy but not pacing for hours. Don't know if this may be your issue or not... but it may be worth discussing with your Onc.
Take Care... God Bless....

Good grief. I hope not. I have no advice, just support. Sounds awful. I am an avid exerciser and I know that if I am late for my walk, my legs start to cramp and I have to start moving.
Love your nickname. You do have a sense of humor. I don't think anything about my BC is funny! Ever!
Hugs.

Oh, yeah. I did read that, too. I had a toxic reaction to Benadryl and ended up in the ER. That stuff is wicked.Susan956 said:I got restless legs syndrome on the days that I had Taxol treatments. Hi newboobs (gotta love it!)
I have always had RLS, even as a child. My mom refused to share a bed with me on family trips because of it! It's a hard way to get the bed all to yourself. ;-)
Several years before my BC diagnosis (7/14/04) I started taking 40 mg amitriptyline (an antidepressant, very small dose) to control headaches. It also relieved my RLS. Looks like there's conflicting research on amitriptyline and RLS - some say it relieves the symptoms, some say it makes symptoms worse, but it worked for me, with really no side effects (except no more headaches!) Some research indicates that iron deficiency can play a part in RLS too - since chemo can make us anemic it makes sense that RSL could be another side effect - I mean benefit! Can't hurt to get more iron and perhaps try the meds they have now for RLS - after all, a girl needs her beauty sleep!

I did start taking liquid vitamins, aloe juice and coral calcium a month ago and it does seem to help. Has helped my digestion and ability to sleep 100%. Thanks for your replies! Wishing you all great health in '07. Stop by the chatroom and say HI sometime!jdubious said:Hi newboobs (gotta love it!)
