The Quack came through! My dad's PSA went from 520 to 250! He is so happy - the first encouragement in a long, long time.

Here's to a good 2007! If my dad can keep going with the numbers he has, you all should be very encouraged. He went to work part-time this entire week and was even able to drive himself around a bit.

Cheers - and good wishes - to all.

Duke's kid.

Hi, I am new here. My dad was diagnosed with PC 12/19/06 and he is in stage IV. His PSA is at 182. My question to you is how long did it take for your dad's PSA to go from 520 to 250 and what treatments is he on? Congrats & Thanks for your time in advance!

    Hi Gina,

Sorry you are new to this club. My dad's PSA when from 520 to 250 in a month. My understanding is that with any new chemo, the first round or two, the PSA spikes really high. This is my Dad's second treatment with chemo and that occurred both times. Then, if the chemo is working, the PSA goes down.

I am so sorry about your dad's cancer and his PSA. If he gets on hormones or chemo/rads quickly, the PSA should start to come down.

You will be in my prayers.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I am trying to learn everything I can about PC. Again, I'm very glad to know that your dad's PSA went down and that Chemo is working for him.

God Bless you and your family
