Hi Mary,
I read what you said about the changes you made when you stopped chemo, but you never said whether you went to see a professional naturopathic doctor or not. Have you been taking any supplements (vitamins, minerals, or herbs)?
If you'd like to talk, send me your phone number on the CSN email and I will call after Christmas (I leave for home tomorrow).
In the meantime, you are in my prayers and Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Mary,
Just want to commiserate and share my story with you. I am currently on XELOX for my recurring colon cancer with mets to the Liver and lungs. My CEA kept climbing over the summer and early fall. After five treatments my CEA hasn't moved and my latest CT Scan shows slight progression and a mildly enlarged paraaortic lymph node.
I am going to continue on chemo after the first of the year and also pursue a naturopath and nutrition.
Please feel free to email me if you want to vent or just have someone to talk to who understands what your going through.
Keep fighting that good fight!

Mary - continue eating well and, if you haven't already, include juicing in your diet. None of this can hurt. I know how terrible it feels when we get a setback like this, but as someone else already mentioned, it is simply a setback. Enjoy your Christmas and try not to let this news ruin it for you. This disease takes enough away from us as it is. You'll be in my prayers, Monica.0

I've been seeing a naturopath since the beginning of oct. Using lots of supplements and chinese herbs (can you say mucho dinero?).
I'll give you a call on the tues or wed after chrismas. I'm travelling tomorrow too. Enjoy your Christmas holiday.

I really was hopeful that this would work. Perhaps the naturopathic method is just a part of the solution. I will wait for the cat scan at the beginning of the year and figure out what to do then.
I've tried the chemo route and I've tried the natural route. Maybe I have to combine the 2. I just DREAD resuming that chemo. YUCK!
Thank you again for the support. I sure do plan on fighting some more.

I am sorry that I got the results before Christmas. My original plan was to have the CEA drawn after Christmas, but my onc nurse was in for a very busy week then, so I accomodated her and had it drawn this week. Unfortunately, with my job, I have access to the results by computer. I tried to hold off, but just couldn't help myself. I had to know. Oh well. This is the best I have felt for the last 4 Christmas' so I intend to enjoy it.
Thank you for your prayers.
