I will share my chemo experience with you, but I am afraid it is not a very good one. My oncologist planned on 6 treatments for me, after my third treatment I,like you, was VERY tired and weak four weeks later. My blood counts were good but I was so weak I couldn't open a can of soda.
I am 45 and felt 90 plus also. When I returned for my fourth treatment 3 weeks after my 3rd my doc gave me steroids and glucose and sent me home. I then returned a week later with the same symptoms plus my blood pressure bottomed out. The decision was made to stop my treatments.
Your oncologist might give you something to "boost" you and it may work for you, my body just didn't take well to chemo or the "boost" stuff.
I never experienced the burning eyes or nose running. You don't mention which treatment you are on, are you just starting, close to ending, or in the middle.
You might want to call your oncologist and at least let them know what your symptoms are. I will say a prayer for you. God Bless, LoVonna0 -
Dear LoVonna, Thanks for sharing your experience. I was taking dose dense A/C and I have finished all of my treatments. I think that I will call my onc Monday and see what they say.lovonna said:I will share my chemo experience with you, but I am afraid it is not a very good one. Karen,
Try to give it time. I was 48 when I was diagnosed and spent most of my 49th year in treatment. For about 3 months after my last Chemo... I felt like a 90 year old woman... It took time... I made myself walk first, then made myself loose weight... (I gained close to 20 pounds in treatment). and then finally started going to the gym... and yes even became close to a health food finatic... not really... just started eating what I should rather than being a junk food junkie... I am now 50 and back to my old antics... So give it time and hopefully... each day you will feel more and more like your old self...
(((((( Hugs))))))))
P.S. those are to make you smile...
Take Care... God Bless....
