It sounds like you are doing it right...keeping it under watch. I thought bc mets went to the bone first...
OK, what I am about to say, PLEASE DO NOT PANIC...
Have you had a colonoscopy? I got the double prize of breast cancer and rectal cancer, both primary site...liver mets are the next step after colon...and right side pain...
Hugs from a been there/done that...

Hey Barb,
I too was told i had a fatty liver. They told me mine was caused by my tryglicerides being high for an extended period of time(since before the diagnoses, then on the back burner for a couple of years after that), it can also be caused from drinking alcohol.I think too that there are other things that trigger our bodies to start working against itself. The fact that it is present, it is particularly important that it is kept in check, which reminds me mine has not been in quite some time.I do not drink anymore-no I wasn't a crazy party aminal either-well maybe just kidding!-no no that wasn't me.Anyway I too feel really bloated in the upper abdomen-some days more so than others - I figure it is something that I've eaten that is causing it,don't really know.Is yours the same everyday?I mean feel the same,I have faint pains too, every now and again I'll get a really sharp stabbing one but they tend to pass quickly. I'm glad U posted this it has reminded me to get checked on my next visit.I doubt that this has helped much, but just so U know U are not alone.I was diagnosed in August 2003-and as far as I know everything is still the same. There are special diets out there to cleanse the liver but I would confirm with the doctor first don't get suckered in on some ad.Your liver right now is doing the opposite of what it is suppose to,like mine,it is storing fat instead of burning it off the trick is to figure out how to get it to reverse...Let me know if U find out how...Thanks and I am still NED no signs of reoccurrence.

I've never had any alcohol whatsoever in my whole life. And, my oncologist has never told me that I'm NED...they're always watching something. Yes, the pain in my abdomen is new, along with a constant feeling of bloat. Add to that the simultaneous pain in my lower rib on that same side (which lit up on my recent bone scan as "arthritis" along with many, many other sites of arthritis throughout my body.) I'm in constant bone pain (no over-the-counter pain meds touch it, the heating pad does nothing, and rub on pain lotion doesn't touch it), and this whole thing with the liver is just one more bothersome thing. My cholesterol is FINE...but, my liver enzymes are elevated and continue to rise. So, it's a puzzlement... Thanks for your comments. Barb K.mssue said:Hey Barb,

I was dx with breast cancer and during a Ct Scann it showed that I had a spot on my liver also about 3.7 diameters. They did another CT Scann about 5 months later inwhich it showed no change. I am schuled to take another one on Friday, March 27. I too have experienced pain below my rib cage and is bloated but this is on my left side. My breast cancer was also on my left side. My doctor says that it maybe something that was already there. Anyway I am taking this seriously. I hope that I get the same report as you, fatty tissue.BBK said:I've never had any alcohol whatsoever in my whole life. I was dx with breast cancer in Oct. 2007. I had been seeing the speicalist for over a year and she told me that she wanted to keep an eye on it. Yes, I did have the usual test done but not the right one. I had lots of mammagrams done and altersounds done inwhich they showed nothing. so that is why my specialist wanted to keep watch of it. Then it began to bother me and i told her that I wanted it out.She did a Mammatone Biopsy, removed the cyist because that what she thought it was, and it came back cancerous. Boy what a blow when i heard this.
then it went from a precancerous to a stage 1 in about 2months. She missed dz it, again.
So, you see why it is important to have problems like this constantly checked and also to have a second opion inwhich I didn't.
I hope you the best.0
