Hi all.

I've been updating the semi-colon webpage with pictures and videos from CP4, and even a couple of writen pieces. I also added an "advertisement" for CP5 in Nashville. If anyone has anything they would like to add to this webpage, please let me know. There is a page dedicated to links, and I think it be cool to add, to that page, links to any personal webpages of people who post messages on CSN (or even Colon Club, for that matter). And if anyone wants to contribute any more pictures, videos, or thoughts about any of the previous CP meetings then those would be great also. There is also an area set aside to remember those that have died. I think it's important to honor those people and the struggles that they faced. So if you have any submissions for content, please contact me so that I can work to make colonpalooza.com an evolving and always interesting Internet presense for the semi-colons.

Don't forget to add a "PERSONALS" section!

Great job, Rodney! Thanks for doing this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....looking at the pictures I think someone from the "outside" would not believe these are pictures of cancer patients/survivors. This is the "new face of cancer".

Well, I did include on the colonpalooza webpage a link to this forum. Does that count as a personals section?

(thank you for your kind comments, Kerry and Howard)

Rodney, yes you are doing a wonderful job with the site. I love it.

I also love the idea of links back to the CSN personal web pages and totally agree that we do not need a personals section, heck it appears we already have one at CSN.

But, you could include a tutorial by Sponger on how he goes about it and why he is obviously so successful.

I keep trying to think of a way to remember the friends I have lost to the **** cells. I love the few memorials we already have but would really like to be able to write up what the person meant/means to me. I can't tell you how much of my internal resolve comes from and thru them.

Bud, I know you have always asked for one, what are some of your ideas? Anybody else??????

Lastly I would like for anyone out there that wants to send in photos from any of the mini-paloozas there are. Ying, you have to have a few. What about photos from COH?????? Relay for Life photos would be cool too. Barb, where is the semi-colons banner these days?

Anyway, thanks so much again Rodney and hopefully you'll get some great stuff to add.

    Andrea Elder
OBITUARY ANDREA ELDER 1982-2006 On Wednesday, May 10, Andrea, cherished daughter of Lesley Lacate and the late Lloyd Elder, beloved sister of Matthew Elder, and dear grand-daughter of Frances Lacate, went gently into that good night; peacefully surrounded by family and friends, at the age of twenty-four, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Andrea is survived by godparents Ross and Eileen Oswald, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, lifetime partner Sondip, best friend David, and many loving friends. Andrea spent her first four years residing in Verdun before moving with her family into their home in Ville St-Laurent. She attended Gardenview Elementary school, where she enjoyed acting and public speaking. After school, she would participate in figure skating and gymnastics. During her five years at Lauren Hill Academy, Andrea was actively involved in drama, peer mediation and running. Her favourite subject was history. Although she enjoyed studying the past, she always lived in the moment. Additionally, Andrea excelled in competitive swimming, training six days per week. Andrea lived a very full life, devoting much of her time to helping other people. As a student at Marianopolis College, where she excelled in Health Sciences, she lived its mission statement, contributing to the school and the outside community. Passionate about children, she was a dedicated volunteer and also worked as a camp counselor at Vanier College Supercamp and Trail's End, a sleep away camp for underprivileged children. Andrea's diagnosis came in January of 2003, halfway through her bachelor's degree in Psychology at McGill. Andrea graduated with honours in the Summer of 2005 and completed one year of her master's in Counseling Psychology at the same university, all while undergoing treatment. Over the past few years, Andrea made many good friends. Through her active involvement in Hope and Cope and camp Make-A-Dream. Andrea drew strength from these relationships and was a true inspiration to others confronted with life threatening illnesses. Andrea felt at home at the Jewish General Hospital, both as a patient and a volunteer. She truly loved her entire treatment team, and was especially grateful for the personalized care she received. Additional thanks to the caring staff of Notre Dame Hospital, and the Fletcher Allen Institute. Andrea loved life and never once gave up hope or happiness. She brought joy to everyone around her. Through her tenacity and strong will of character, she taught everyone around her to also appreciate life. Andrea's friends were an extended family. Having grown up with her since elementary school, they stood by her until the end. We are profoundly changed by having known her and she will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope and Cope's Young Adult Division at the Jewish General Hospital would be welcome. Family will receive condolences at: 3955 C-de-Liesse (corner of Ste-Croix) St-Laurent. Funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral complex. Visitation: Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Well, thanks everyone for the nice comments. The only thing about adding people to the Memorial page is that I would like to personally hear from the survivors of those that have died, so that I can feel I have permission to include the information. When I first did the Memorial page many weeks ago, I wrote to several people (survivors of people that had passed away) but not everyone responded. People have their own busy lives and they maybe didn't see my notes or were too busy to think about it, and also at the time I was dealing with a recurrence and starting a new semester of graduate school so I, myself, was a bit disorganized and probably missed a reply or two. Anyway, I'll include information about anyone whose loved ones ask me to. It is important that I know it has the blessings of the family before including it.

OH, and another thing ... I thought it might be a good idea to include a page of links to people's personal web pages or blogs, etc, that they maintain outside of CSN or Colon Club or any forum. It's a way for everyone to better get to know each other. I just now made an example page for people to see with only a link to my (very much in-progress and not really ready for prime-time) webpage, and the webpage of a young patient that I know who allowd me to link her webpage -- and that page is http://www.colonpalooza.com/Directory/Semi-colon Directory.html. I would love for more people to provide links to their own webpages so that we get a better sense of each other. It will be interesting to see if many people respond to this idea ...

Rodney, please do not take my comments personally...... BUT, I have to disagree about "needing a survivors approval" before you list our friends. I can tell you that sometimes it is harder then pulling teeth to even get information while they are still alive. It's not like you will be posting anything that isn't already public knowledge (only stuff cut and pasted from the internet). I also think you should list them by their handles (like kriss, grandma047, bsrules' Bob etc).

I love the link ideas you have!!!!!!!!! I just don't have one other then CSN.
