Hi everyone! Thanks for the positive feedback....looks like I'll have to fill out that application that I already received from Molly McMaster for the colondar 2008! Now I really have a reason to keep getting back to the gym. I just wanted to let you all know that WE are the bravest people that I know, living life in the shadow of this crazy disease. I am amazed at the strength here, and I draw inspiration from it myself. Since cancer I have had to rebuild my body and mind and ego from the inside out. Now, 8 years later (44 years old) I feel good about myself, good about my body (mostly) and grateful for the opprotunity to rebuild this life. It takes time to heal from cancer...but it is a metamorphosis of sorts. We are the end product of this test. Let us show the world what we are made of. Keep your dreams and your muscles alive survivors...we have many mile to walk beofre we rest!

I just had a question for you. I was wondering you you got information for the colondar. I was reading up on it and it is such a cool idea. I'm still on chemo right now so I'm trying as much as I can to keep in shape but nowhere near where I was...but I'll get back there again soon, I was just wondering how you got an application for that. Thanks so much and hope all is well!!!!!

Isn't it funny....when someone says what an inspiration I am...I just laugh and say "Well, I had limited choices...". I just do what I do, and am happy with the knowledge that I may have made the trip a little less scary for someone else. Your posts do this. I take heart in the fact that you are 8 years out...I am less than 2 years...

I made my rectal cancer journey without this site, frightened and shaking. I rejoice that I found it for the breast cancer portion...one of my new friends convinced me that it was ok to be bald...her family, observing us on my recent trip to visit, observed that it seems like we have known each other for a very long time.

I am far too old to apply for any callendar...my body is better left covered...hehehehehe...but you young, strong people are our banner wavers...there IS life AFTER colon cancer...

Hugs, Kathi (proudly, 51 years young!)

You can order the colondars at colonclub.org
You can also get the application to model for 2008. The thing is you have to be available for 3 days in June. I believe it is 7-10 for a photo shoot. I remember you from the Young Cancer Survivors board. You should go for it too!

    Sim -

    Go to:

    http://www.colondar.com

You will see how to get an application there. You'll need to submit a photo of yourself exposing your scar along with your app. It's a great cause and really FUN people.

Not so fast. Anyone who can work to get back in shape can be a candidate for a photo shoot. I know someone 80+ who would look great in a bikini. Scars are sooo sexy. jams
