Sheesh y'all!

I sure had missed y'all being off the boards for these past few months, but after this thread I'm wondering what i missed??

Did someone pass out crabby pills today or something?? :-)

This is an ongoing question and in the past has been conducted with respect and restraint. I am so surprised at the vehemence that seems to be seeping in. please correct me if I'm wrong.

The main focus should be on Duey's wishes and supporting his choices. Obviously there can be personal agendas. It's rather difficult to not be subjective here as we each share our experiences. Can we continue the better feeling of fellowship and support?

just a thought.

    I didn't bash anyone in my original post. I was under the impression that my post was equal to both sides of the debate. None of us are qualified to offer medical advice as something guaranteed or in stone. We all choose to fight our battle the way we deem fit, and nobody should be condemned for that. Last time I checked, we all had a common enemy, not so sure anymore.

    So again, I stress....when deciding how to fight your battle, rely on professionals----whether they are doctors, authors, nutritionists, whatever. I don't feel there is anything wrong with that concept.

    Lisa - we can't discount the Halloween effect. Good think Thanksgiving is coming up. MUCH to be thankful for.

    lol...Betsy....my CHRISTMAS tree is going up on SUNDAY!!!!! Yanked down all the Halloween stuff this morning, and I have no Thanksgiving decorations.

    My house HAS to be the first to resemble the GRISWALDS!

    Emily, I think you miss the true nature and tone of your messages...that your choice is right and that anyone else's is mistaken...try as you might to allow for some tolerance. I believe in conventional treatment when it is effective with the assistance of homeopathic medicine...and when all else fails...whatever gives hope. However, you have to be blind to miss the message that you repeatedly send. I try and post messages of courage and hope...and try not to promote treatment choices. I would suggest the same of all whenever possible.

    I think you miss the point of what we share on here......people are asking for treatment choices all the time....have you done erbitux, what is avastin like, have you done folfiri or whatever. We all share what has worked and what has not worked for us. That is what I do. Your veiled accusation that I do not promote hope is almost laughable if you could see the extent of my inbox for email on this board and at my home addy. Hardly a week goes by that I do not receive some email from someone requesting exactly what I give them---HOPE and courage to research into other areas that they may not have before.

    I can understand that there are folks who do not want to hear how harmful certain protocols can be (on both sides of the issue) and they can choose to avoid my message and posts. I will not stop presenting an alternative hope and not just for those when all else fails, but for anyone who wishes for something different.

    I do not for one second miss the true nature of my messages. It is a message and labor of love for my fellow semi-colons that there can be healing from cancer that does not involve making oneself sicker in the process. Who here can argue what I read on these boards continuously....the agonies that many who take the chemo experience. My heart goes out to them deeply or I would not have spent a good part of the last five years on here loving them.

    If you are personally sick of my message then I advise you to skip over any of my posts. But I take issue with your implication that the tone of my message is not one of compassion for those who suffer on here.

    Okay you stand corrected. You are wrong! The purpose of boards like this is to go beyond the hugs and "I'm so sorry" which are important to be sure. But it should be to supply information on all issues and experiences. If someone offers an opinion which you totally disagree fine say so. The "vehemence" you see may just be a difference of opinion and experience for which you don't agree. You called it an agenda? Do you think I own a drug company or something? I responded to LLLady because Duey had already started down the hard path of chemo. It's easy to want to quit. It's hard to continue believe me. There may be better treatments and I hope so because I might need treatment again. Maybe I'll read about better treatments here. Practice what you preach. I've got nothing invested here. My chemo was long painful and I wanted to quit. I don't know LL or you but I'd tell you the same thing I suggested to LL because I'm still alive so it worked for me. I respect you for disagreeing with me. You suggested and continue to suggest that I and others don't respect or support Dueys decisions. You are again wrong. Duey hadn't decided to stop he was "wanting to stop". There is a significant difference. If it gives you any solence, I have decided to step back and become a reader again. I guess I would be classified as a newbee to this board as a contributor and I sure wouldn't want to scare away other readers because of disagreements.     Thanks for sticking up for me, 'Lou. When I started that post, I had no idea I was opening up a can of "whoop ****" on myself! For every "bad" chemo story someone has, I can give a "good" one. Just like for every "bad" nutrition story, someone can give a "good" one. I really didn't think I deserved some of the personal attacks I got....luckily, I'm one tough cookie! My buddy, ron50, said it best to me...I'm a combination of sugar and concrete--sweet to those who are close to me, and the others better duck. Don't let the few turn you from this board....we need people like you.
