Ok, you all have listened to my whinning and complaining about all the changes in my bathroom habits (you know, I NEVER passed gas except in the bathroom before....). With MUCH trepidation, I tried that new yogurt that has 'digestive aid' properties. I gotta share....it REALLY works for me! And, considering I am lactose intollerant, well, yogurt was pretty much off my list.

This stuff has 3 active cultures in it...L.Bulgaricus, S.Thermophilus, and Bifidobacterium. Can I get these some other way, or should I just enjoy a cup of this yogurt daily (it's actually quite tasty)?

It has been SOOOOOO long since I have not had gas, diarrhea, cramps.....WOHOO!!!! NAKED HAPPY DANCE!!!

Hugs, Kathi

Wow Kathi....no more skid marks...he!he!Is that the stuff with the brand name "Yakult?"We have it here in supermarkets and I always wondered if it is worth trying. Supposedly has all tha "good" bacteria in it.
Btw.....did I ever tell you guys about this stuff...."Slippery Elm"? Jen drinks it as often as she needs it for IBS. It is good for stomach cramps, diarhea and nausea and she swears by it. Not the most palatable stuff to drink but she tells me that it is the only "natural" product that gives her relief.

    Hi Kathi,
Glad to hear you are doing well with this yogurt. What is the name of it? I reallly don't like yogurt, but like you, with the excessive gas and bms I would try anything. Do you eat this after meals? Does it stop the gas and bms? mmm Thanks. Peace, Annette

If you really want the stuff to make you regular, go for Kefir (it is like a liquid yogurt, only better and better for you). Those that were at Whole Foods in Austin remember that sweet tasting stuff we got to sample. The yogurt KathiM is talking about has high fructose corn syrup in it (fake sugar) that is bad for your heart, veins and arteries. Kefir does even more for the bowels (it has 9 of the most important good bacteria your innards needs). I love the peach and raspberry flavored and it keeps a month and gets better over time all with no sugar!!!!

You can find it in the diary section is all health food stores or heathy supermarkets. My farmers market even has it.

    Lisa,
The thing is, I'm lactose intolerant...most yogurt GIVES me gas....sigh....I ate some stuff in Holland called 'quark' (supposed to be like Kefir) and WOW! did I suffer....

Thanks for the tip, yeah, the 4oz cup has 17gms of sugar...and fat, too.

    Kathi,

I was sort of skeptical of that yogurt, but I'm glad to hear that it works!!! I have heard that those cultures put the good bacteria back into the intestines and really helps regulate the system (especially in those who have had to go through surgery/radiation/chemo).

Thanks for sharing the good news!!!

Naked happy dances are MUCH better/sexier without the gas!

FYI: lactose intolerant people often tolerate yogurt just fine! :) Yum,yum.

My nutritionist had me get Threelac. It is live microorganisms in a powder form... I eat yogurt too. I don't know exactly what it does, but my counts are doing well so I listen to my nutritionist. :)

The Kefir stuff Lisa wrote about it great!! :)
Probably the best way to get any good thing is straight from the yummy yogurt. :)

Stay naked, happy, and dancing! jana
