Good morning Capt,
I have not seen any past postings by you so I am assuming you are a new visitor. Welcome to our club that no-one wants to belong to.
The length of time that incontinence is a problem varies greatly from patient to patient. In my case it was less than two months. However, I practiced dilligently the kegel contraction of the abdomen muscles. I did this prior to and following the surgery itself. Within, 6 months I was totally dry, with a rare exception when I forgot to keep the muscle contracted, such as a sneeze or cough.
When did you have your surgery and have you had any other complications? Feel free to e-mail me at this site if you have anything you want to discuss off-line.
Best of luck,

All I can suggest is kegel, kegel, kegel!!! One of the functions of the Prostate is to stop and release the flow of urine. Obviously, when it is removed, something has to resume those activities. When you perform the kegels you are training other muscles to do this. You have to practice, practice, until the muscles will be normally contracted to restrict the flow. Then you will have to mentally "release" or relax those muscles to allow the flow to begin. It does work, you just have to train the muscles.
Good luck,
