Toni,
If they decide that you need something for your white blood cell count, try to get them to let you use, Neupogen instead of Neulasta. You have to have the shot daily (for up to 10 days - mine ranged from 4 to 10 days according on how low my counts were). I had much better side effect management with Neupogene. By spreading out the dose it also doesn't over saturate you body all at once.

I too was on neuprogen since after 2nd chemo treatment landed in hospital with blood infection and isolated. I had no white cells and at that time neuprogen just out and sure they hadn't given it to anyone yet. I suffered the side effects of this drug as well as everything else given and I ended up only needing the shots once a day for two or three days at most. I had bone pain and mostly in middle of chest as side effect. Pain jolted me like electrical shock and that was bone marrow in production of the white cells necessary.
I finished treatments with no more infections and grateful for a drug such as this. Glad to hear they still use it.
