I have now taken 28 radiation treatments and have 7 to go. My armpit area is raw, peeling, burning and hurts like you know what.

Silvadeen cream helps bunches, thank God! Has anyone experienced such tenderness there, I mean to the point is looks like raw hamburger?

hi lovonna--dont know if u saw my response to u in just had to say something, but it'ssuperfilous now. this isn't tho ask ur ocologist or radiation ppl about Kiehl's cream, it's def v helpful in healing burn's and any scaring from same. it is expensive, but it does work.

I would use Silvadeen at night, and then wash off in the morning. My rad tech said that I shouldn't have it on during a rad treatment. BUT, right after the treatment I used Aquaphor....took it with me to the dressing room!
Also, don't forget your water...it hydrates the skin/body.
Only 7 left!!!!! You are nearing the finish line!!!!!

    MAJOR (soft) hugs!

Hey LoVonna......I did burn with my treatments. Under the breast, under the arm and in the target zone. My onc told me to make a paste of castrol oil and zinc oxide (like the life guards use) I put this on the burns and put a non stick pad over it. It sure soothed it and dried the oozing up. Also, don't be surprised to have more areas start burning. Mine actually got worse after my treatments were over. It took three weeks for my skin to stop burning, peeling, etc. But after that, it healed perfectly! Hope yours gets better faster than that!
