Hello
Just read your first post this morning. Hopefully the erbitux will bring about some shrinkage. i understand that your hubby has only had three of these? Is he also taking irinotecan with this? It seems that it is the best chemo to use with erbitux. Wishing you all the best.

Yes, my husband is taking irinotecan with the Erbitux and we are hoping for the shrinkage. Thanks so much for your response.finner said:Hello

Hey, hubby is now part of the semi-colons! And you are by proxy!!! Welcome to the family!
I think that you will see there are many who will respond....I am one of the 'old timers'. I am finished with my treatments....Stage III rectal followed 3 months later by stage IIB breast cancer...unrelated (I have GOT to FIND THAT LIST!!!!!...don't know how I got on it TWICE!!!! hehehehehe).
One of your big jobs will be to keep his hope alive. Sometimes it may be hard...I believe caregivers have the hardest job by far....but it MUST be done!

Hi, I am a caregiver for my husband. He was diagnosed stage IV in 10/04. He did chemo(avastin, 5FU, leucovorin and irinotecan) and surgery (colon resection and liver resection and liver ablation) and more chemo till 7/05. His cancer reoccurred in 10/05. He has been on irinotecan biweekly and erbitux weekly since 11/05. His cancer is still stabile. At first we were disappointed and now we are glad it is stabile and still planning on that shrinage to happen though. If you have any questions about "the erbitux rash" - we have lots of experience and good info. Just email me and I will gladly share our experience. Good luck.
