I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis but you have come to the right place for some answers and support. My husband is stage 4 with mets to liver/lungs and was diagnosed over 2 years ago...not sure how you know your cancer has metastasized without a CT scan..did you have surgery??
It is normal to feel really scared but just try to take it one day at a time, get as much info as you can and try hard to stay positve.
Thinking of you.

Wait until the ct scan is done to find out what stage you are in. I think when each of us is diagnosed the first thing we think is that we are going to die. But then one realizes that everyone is going to die-some just have a better idea when. I decided that if I think of dying I am not really living so I try to concentrate on living. Try to live and enjoy each day you have. Deal with the results as they come. Try to live well.

Please don't panic. I was dx on 8/28/06 and am stage 4 with liver mets. I have already had surgery and am now getting ready for chemo and then liver surgery. I was right where you are 1 month ago. I didn't know anything, worried, I have 2 kids, writing my will...all that stuff. People here helped me, I looked for information and now have a treatment plan in place. You are not alone and god bless you and your family. One piece of advice I got early on that helped me was there are times to be a good parent, times to be a good coach, times to be a good teacher and times to be a good patient. Now is the time to be a good patient. I know its hard but believe me, you are stronger than you think.
lots of hope sent your way

Hummm....nausea....stress....worry.....could be related!!!!! I agree with all here, wait till the ct scan. And then, don't listen to ANY statistics. Had I listened, well, I would have been dead over a year ago....and I am NED!!!!!!
Hope is one of the strongest weapons against the beast....that, and knowledge and faith!
There are many stage 4 survivors here...I was only a stage 3...local mets...but many have been victorious for years and years!
Hug your daughters, and try hard not to diagnose yourself! We will all be pulling for you!

I know exactly how you feel. I have Stage II colon cancer (7/10/06). Currently undergoing FLOFOX regime and should be complete by 1/07.
Your mind will play games with you. Make you think of horrible and scary things, I know. What has helped me relax and some what get back to normal is going back to church and my wonderful husband and family. For some reason I am drawn to the spirtual realm more now than I have ever been in my life.
Let's us know more about your disagonsed, stage, etc so we can REALLY help you understand and get through this.

Yes, my dear...it happened to me too. I think it has to do with facing a battle that we could lose. I realized that it isn't just about the right meds, treatments, foods...something more...nudgie said:I know exactly how you feel. I have Stage II colon cancer (7/10/06). I want to thank you all for sharing your stories and kind words. I am still struggling to stay positive. I see my doctor todat to talk about how I'm doing, then tomorrow I go for my CT scan. The reason they say its mets is because the biopsy i had done was on a small bump (thought to be a blocked sebacious gland) that I had removed from my scalp. It was diagnosed as a carcinoma, secondary tumor,of the type of cancer that develops in the gut.(sorry, just begining this journey, not sure of the terminology yet). I wont have any more definate information until late Wed. God the waiting is hard, but at the same time I dont want to know. Do you know what I mean? I read through the past posts and I'm amazed how many of us thought it was IBS. I have been feeling guilty about not catching this sooner, but I'm a veg., I eat organic, work out, have an optimistic outlook, love freely, etc. Unbelievable. Thanks for listening guys.

Welcome to our group (though sorry you have to be here). I know how scared you are, but you have come to right place for both support and good information.
Hopefully your CT scan will reveal more and scary as it is, information is good and helps you orchestrate your fight against this beast. As for your stomach, Kathi is right about stress. But, also physiologically, it sounds like you have a colon tumor and irritation of the intestinal tract can cause nausea and I am not sure what could be more irritating than a tumor!
Good luck with your scans. Know that we are here for you. Keep us posted about your next steps.
