MRI update

Goodmorning everyone, I received the MRI report in the mail. It said as far as the headache it was good, but that it showed I had small vessel ischemic disease of the white matter. Always something going on, we deal with the cancer ongoing that we forget sometimes about the rest of our bodies.


I almost finished with the avastin/cytoxan actually september 28th should be the last dose. I am a little nervous about the CT Scan in October. September 22nd I am sharing my story with all the surgeons at Grand Rounds in Duluth and they have put my story on MOCA's website. www.mnovarian.org It is so exciting to be able to take this cancer and have positive outcomes from it.

    My Dear Bonnie:
    As if you don't have enough to deal with. Do I understand this 'ischemic disease' as being more prone to small strokes? My brother-in-law had TIA's (transient ischemic attacks), meaning mini strokes that most often go unnoticed. I hope that is not the case for you, and that this new situation is under control. Could that be the cause of your headahes?

    On a brighter note, I am excited about your bio being chosen for the MOCA website! Will we have access to that and be able to read it? You'll be quite a celebrity! More importantly, now EVERYONE will be inspired by your strength and perserverance in spite of this horrendous disease. You continue to keep me inspired and moving forward, no matter what. Let us know when your story will be accessible.

    I pray for the best for your last treatment and follow-up CT. Yes, those tend to make me nervous also. Here I had only hoped to hear 'no evidence of disease' on my last CT, and was blessed with that. But then I heard 'blood clot' and I thought, 'now what?' Well, good thing the Lord does most of my worrying, because I couldn't function if I thought about everything going on or POTENTIALLY going on.

    Hi Bonnie. I've never heard of small vessel ischemic disease. Monika mentioned a connection possibly with 'mini strokes.' Could this be a result of your problem with high blood pressure? I hope it is something that they can do something about. Great news that your last chemo will be Sept. 28th! I'm scheduled for my 7th on Friday. I think it is wonderful that you are sharing your story! I'm sure it will help so many people, just as it has done here on CSN. Keep us posted. With joy and gratitude, your friend, MM

    Wow, Bonnie-it's always something, isn't it? Sharing your story is a selfless thing to do, and I applaud you for it. I'll look for it.

    Glad to hear you know what's causing the headaches now; is there anything you can do about them? As always, I'll keep you in my prayers.

    Wishing You The Best! Are you getting any relief from your headaches? Hey maybe you have found a chemo combination that will really help with OC. Good Luck and Take Care! Paula

    Hi Everyone, thanks for all your support and kind words. They don't think this is what is causing headaches but I would think it could. My understanding the white matter shows clearly the damage done but they don't say strokes. What I've read on internet sounds like that is what does it, but waiting to speak a Dr. I had a very bad headache, so bad I finally took ativan to knock me out. Now I am better and ready to make yet another appointment with my Dr to try and figure these out.

    My story is on the MOCA webpage now it is www.mnovarian.org and on the 22nd I will give a 10 minute version of it to all Drs at St Mary's in Duluth during there Grand Rounds. I have it shortened to 11 minutes so far, so still need to shave a couple more.

    Well that's about it. Thanks for all your replies and support.

    Hi Bonnie, Wow! I just read your story. I'd read your Personal Page some time ago, but the writeup on the mnovarian page is powerful. I'm sure you'll help another woman get an earlier diagnosis. You're an angel for sharing it.

    Thank you for sharing your story, Bonnie. Although we all knew some details, to see it all in one testimony is amazing. It's so hard to believe that your symptoms were missed/misread/neglected by health care professionals. God bless you for your openess and honesty. I pray that many will read your story and become informed AND INSPIRED!
