Good for you! It's always interesting to see why we do/don't do things on certain dates. I'm very much the same way.
Well, you have your port, you have your SemiColon cheerleaders (shaking my pom-poms as we speak - I know... what a visual, eh?) Now, GO SINGE SOME DRAGON ****!
Cheers

One of our fellow survivors has a wonderful signature line....
"Be Stronger Than, Not Angry At"
Wonderful words to live by...sounds like you already have that figured...
Hugs, Kathi
(I would give you my faithful, loyal port....but after almost 2 years of service, it's not coming out till the 26th.)

Nana,
Reminds me of the old saying, "when mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!"
I got my port two weeks ago, thereabouts, and had my first chemo on Friday. I'll be getting my second on the 15th so I'll be thinking of you. YOu can join us chemo buddies... there are three or four of us now just undertaking this journey.
I know what you mean about your Aunt being with you. My sister, who died of lung cancer (age 51) is right there with me, as is my mom, who had terminal cancer but died of pneumonia. You really do feel them there with you, don't you?
My first weekend went OK. Feeling a little nauseus today so I'm taking the meds they gave me and that helps. Kinda hard to concentrate on work, but, Oh Well!!!
You fight, and you fight hard, Nana. We all are and we've got everything to gain, right?
Hang in there!0 -

You're right we've all got so much to gain....On the 15th I too will be thinking about you... It's interesting how all of us live all over the world and we were all brought together on this web site to share and become one another's cheerleaders... HMMMMM... Makes you think...Patrusha said:Nana,

Keep up the fighting attitude. There will be days when you will wonder why or feel down but that is the time, especially to come here. I'm about halfway through the chemo and so far feel lucky that the side effects have not been as bad as I thought they would be. It would be nice, however to not have any but at least feeling the side effects makes us know that the chemicals are chasing and killing the beast.

Hi Nana, I am one of the new chemo buddies, here in this site, that Patrusha mentioned, today I went for my second, so counting down I only have 10 more to go,better than when I started, so far I have been feeling fairly good, today I experienced something different sudenly I began to talk a little bit different I was trying to have a conversation with another patient across the room and my voice was kind of strange like I had to make an effort, and had like waves, I really don't know well how to explain it I told the nurse and she told me that only think she could think of, was a reaction to a drink that I had that maybe was not at room temperature, and the kind of chemo I am taking doesn't go well with anything cold ,anyway I hope that for you goes as well as for me at least at the begining, I can see that you are another fighter, and you need to focus in a bright future for you and your family ,being positive is a must. Lots of hugs Betina0

Hi Nana!
Just fight the beast!!!!! Never give up!!! I lost my mom 12 years ago; I have cried for her at times when I have a rough time with my chemo. I feel she is with me. Your aunt is with you and will help you deal with this cancer. I firmly believe in angels. Your aunt is one. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Terri0 -
I agree with Terri...of course there are angels. We have lost some dear friends here on CSN and I know that they are all keeping watch over us.They hold our hands during treatment Nana...always remember that.terril said:Hi Nana!

I just had surgery, stage 4, 1 liver met, 1 of 21 nodes with cancer. PET scan just done and I do not know any results, scared but inspired by posts like yours. 47 years old M in CA with 2 kids> I meet with oncologist next week, 2 weeks after surgery. Any advice or questions I should ask?
All my love and blessings
