Hi all,
I just wanted to suggest that we all take the time to read/post in some of the other forums which seem to be lagging in activity. For example the young cancer survivors, emotional support, military survivors, lesbian survivors, etc.
I often see posts in some of these other forums that sit unanswered for days on end while the patients/caregivers probably think no one cares or is listening to them. I think it would be great if we could all reach out onto some of these other lists too. It only takes a few minutes to read them and it probably could make a world of difference to someone in need. Also, you might make a couple of new friends!
Just a thought,
Susan.

That is a nice idea. Of course - personally - I am not exactly a "young" cancer survivor (but not "old" either - thank you very much!)

A-hem... for the record, the Military Cancer Survivor's posts are answered within 24 hours thank you very much!
But you are correct - in a lot of the boards, and I cruise them sometimes... when I'm bored... and it's late at night... and I can't sleep... and I've seen the episode of Star Trek that's on TV... and I've eaten all my popcorn... (note to self, do NOT eat popcorn anymore; especially when out on a date!) Anyway, Susan is right, so many of those boards have messages just hanging there for days, weeks, months in some cases. It's sad to see people reaching out for help and getting nothing. I had a scare about a year ago and I posted on the testicular cancer board - I didn't get any response from anyone. It really made me appreciate all of you SemiColons and our lively interactions and the way you so warmly embrace everyone who posts here for the first time.
Great thought, Susan!0 -
Susan,
It is a good idea. I will try to post on other boards.
