Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a nice weekend. I was just doing some reading about the book "Beating Cancer With Nutrition" and was looking at the ingredients contained in the "Immunopower" supplements. Have any of you tried this? It does have a lot of the stuff that has been proven to combat the side effects of chemo and fight the cancer. It's quite expensive, though. The book is a great tool in fighting cancer, but I'm not so sure if the author is just trying to market his product and make more money with it. With all the stuff that is out there, it is so hard to determine what will or will not help. I also want to contact a naturopath for my dad, but we don't seem to have any in my area that specialize in cancer. Any tips?
If anyone has any info. on this product or where to find a good naturopath, could you please share?
Thank you, and God bless,
-Lee-

Hi Lee -
The extent to which Quillin markets his supplements disturbs me a bit and the extent to which you seem to be able to only find his supplements for sale on sites that are really aliases for his own disturbes me even more.
Also, his ImmunoPower involves taking a powder as well as numerous pills and not everyone can hack the powder (I would be one). (There is an ImmunoPowerEZ which only involves pills, has less stuff in it.)
An alternative (and I am sure there are others) is "Life Extension Mix" - available from many sites (and at a variety of prices - ranging from $66 to 105 for a month's supply - in fact it is most expensive on the manufacturer's web site! - www.lef.org). Not sure this is better, but it feels better that multiple sites sell it at varying prices. You might want to give it a try.
P.S. Quillin does mention this as an alternative in his book.0 -
Hi Lee:
Yeah, you're right. The stuff is quite pricey. I showed the components list to the owner of my vitamin shop, he helped me to come up with additions to my multivitamin on the major components. The minor components in the quantity Quillin prescribe are so low that it would make much difference. So, for not much more, I was able to cover most of the things in Quillin's formula.
Hope this helps.

Here is a link to the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Doctors website - the ND finder tool.

Hope this works and proves helpful for you. I agree with everyone's assessment of Quinlan's "marketing" - I wish he would focus on one thing (and change the name of "ImmunoPower" - it sounds like something you'd see on an infomercial; at the prices he's asking I'd #$%^ well better get a Ginsu knife with my order!)
Cheers
