Prayers for my dad
Most know that I have Stage 3 colon cancer and had my tumor out on my birthday Dec 20, 2005. I'm coming to the group to help pray for my dad who was dx about 3 yrs ago with CLL. Just this year we found out he has prostrate cancer, possible liver mets (and just dx) with lymphoma. Tomorrow we go to the Onc to find out if the dx is correct and next steps. I will be there with him since him and Mom are 70yrs old to help ask the "right" questions. I believe in prayer and since I stopped chemo I want to help him get through anything they throw at him. I need to be healthy since he is the caregiver for my mom who has type one diabetis since she was 4yrs old. HUGS to the group because I know how great everyone here is.

Lisa,
Your father is definitely in my prayers. I know how difficult it is to keep an eye out for your parents. I have to do the same for mine. My dad is also a caregiver for my mom who just recently had a heart attack. He tries to make sure that she gets her exercise and eats right. I am praying that your dad and your family will get through anything that comes your way.
God bless you and your family,

Hello Lisa,
So sorry to hear about your dad. I know what its like to visit your own onc one week and your parent's the next. I appreciated your e-mails supporting me with the start of my chemo so please know you've got a friend here...feel free to e-mail anytime.
You and and your folks are in my thoughts and prayers.
All my best,

Geez Lisa...you are doing it tough gal. I guess there is some positive stuff here. Both you and your father knowing the difficulties thast each of you share. Both being able to understand what goes on emotionally as well as physically. I know that when my mum had cancer(before I was dx'd) I really was lost for that understanding. You both are able to help each other because you each are in a unique situation....the hardest situation for anyone to be able to comprehend. Our thoughts are with you both Lisa.mindy10 said:Hi Lisa, sending prayers your dads way. I know how hard it is to have a loved one sick. You worry about them all the time. I am sending prayers up for you and your family. I know it is rough trying to handle your own health and the health of aging parents.0

Hi Lisa,
My prayers are also with you and your family at this difficult time. Just remember to breath in - breath out and take it one day at a time. My Mom is also going through a difficult time since her colon resection and ended up with acute perontinitis ~ she's also diabetic. It's never easy Lisa to see our parents age and face new health issues ~ just remember to be good to yourself also at this time.
Stay strong and know that others care.
Hugs,

Lisa,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. But I am so glad you are done with chemo so you can be of some help. I know it will be tough. I am new here but have been ready posts for some time and they have given me comfort and helped me keep positive.
My mom had colon ca and finished her chemo 2 weeks before I started my chemo for colon ca (stage 3c) also. So, we had to switch up in the caregiver role. It is hard...but I will keep you in my prayers.
