Rare Melanoma

My mon was diagnosed with a melanoma in her rectum. She underwent surgery and now has a colostomy. She has developed a hernia by the stoma. Has anyone out there had this type of melanoma and what was your course of treatment?

    I do not have that form of melanoma. I have Stage III melanoma - nodular primary, one positive node - groin lymph basin. Your mom might want to discuss clinical trials with her doctor. I would also suggest that she try to go to a center with oncologist who have a lot of experience with melanoma.
