If there's a 5%, I'm in it!
1) obstructions only occur in 5% of patients
2) breast lumps are cancerous only 5% of the time
3) My rectal cancer occurs less than 5% of the time......
sigh....
I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!! I was in the 5% in the nation back loooooong ago when I took my SAT's...
Hugs, (wanting to be part of the 95% group PLEASE JUST ONCE.....hehehehehehe)

WOW, Maureen, I'm going to STOP whining NOW!Moesimo said:Kathi,
I am right behind you. I have had about 8 bowel obstructions. I had rectal cancer and I am in the less than 5% that end up with a colostomy.
Maureen
8????? You have my deepest respect...
AND, you are such a help and inspiration to anyone facing a colostomy....you really show that it's just another part of living (and BEATING THE BEAST!)

Boy, my mom, too!! 5% get a reaction to the radiation treatment. 5% have a chance of staying longer in the hospital. 5% have a chance of retracting stoma. 5% have a chance of stoma splitting. If the doctor so much as utters the phrase, "There is a small chance..." my mom almost immediately develops the complication attached. It is almost funny, though it is not really. Mom is always in that "rare occurance" group!!! At least you all can stick together!!!0

Ya know, everyone STILL looks at me funny when I say I'm allergic to Aloe Vera and Steri Strips....poochini04 said:Boy, my mom, too!! 5% get a reaction to the radiation treatment. 5% have a chance of staying longer in the hospital. 5% have a chance of retracting stoma. 5% have a chance of stoma splitting.
