It's been just over 6 weeks since my hemicolectomy. I found this site the day I returned from the hospital. I cannot begin to tell you all how much you have helped me. I'm a nurse, but when I was diagnosed, I felt helpless and frightened. The posts have given me so much encouragement and excellent advice. All of you have made this new experience so much easier handle.
Thanks and huggies to all,
Joyce

Hi Joyce,
I missed responding to your first post, but our situations are so similar, I had to jump in. I found this site in Dec 03, after my "hemi" and before chemo. I'm also a nurse, but knew no one with colon cancer (except my dad who died of metastatic colon cancer at age 85, 3 yrs post initial dx). I have gotten sooooo much from this site, I find it hard to describe. I was terrified of chemo beyond any logic, but armed with all the support and info here, all went well. Any little bump in the road, the folks at this site held my hand, offered info and tips that my onc's nurses were glad to hear about! Having cancer sucks, but the folks at this site has made all the difference.
Sorry you have to be here, but welcome to the club. Continue to take good care of yourself. Judy0 -
Hi Joyce....wow...so many "angels" on here(nurses). I call you all angels(you too Judy) because my nurses at my hospital and chemo clinic helped me so much to get thru all the recovery and treatment. Even to this day I often return to my clinic to say hi to them all. I hope that you are recovering well Joyce and getting stronger each day. Welcome to our family.JADot said:Joyce:
