ER ROOM YESTERDAY!

Now that I got your attention....I was in the ER yesterday, with my 14 year old daughter (yes she is a runner too, like her mom and dad) who ran her leg of the 2 mile relay in a personal best, then stumbled while handing off the baton, fell hard to the ground and broke her collarbone. I had to get her to the hospital, 7 year old in tow, wife across town with my 10 year old...dodge a couple criminals who are out of jail and were awaiting treatment as well...and take care of my princess, who was brave as brave could be, but in pain. As I sat in the hospital it struck me how lucky I was that I had defeated cancer for the past 7 plus years and was in a hospital to help my daughter, who was only 6 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. For you new survivors, a lesson: Never give up. There are too many people here that need us. It was a nice way to look at what otherwise cold have been a bad day. My daughter will be fine...she has her father with her. Must run now and deliver lunch and flowers at home. Live Strong Survivors!

Runner,
You are so right. The will to fight, stay strong, live strong and beat this disease for all our loved ones is so vital to us all. When I look at my sweet daughters, who have grown, but still need their mama a while longer I build up my will to beat this disease.
Congratulations to you for your brave and successful fight. Hug those sweet children everyday.

Hi Runner -
Thanks for sharing. My kids are 21 and 24 and they think they are all grown up, but I know better and know they still need me around and wanting to be around for them is great motivator!
