CALLING ALL WEBMASTERS!
Is anyone out there savvy with making websites? The girls from the Colon Club graciously purchased "www.colonpalooza.com" about a year ago and I can't seem to find anyone who would like to put together the website to go with it. Is ANYone interested? I can think of tons of great links, articles, and - of course - photos to put there, but I don't know @#$% about computers.
ANYone wanna help? You won't get paid in money, but you will have the enduring love and admiration of SemiColons world-wide - and you can feel free to plaster your name all over the site!
If you're interested send me your resume, 5 letters of reference, and a copy of your latest credit report... OK, if you just want to drop me an e-mail that would be fine, too!
Cheers

Hello Sponge Bobrthornton said:I could probably help with that, but I can't do anything until mid-June because after Monday I'll be away from my computer for three weeks. So if you don't find someone by the middle of June, let me know.

I am not that savvy with computers either.
Just wanted to say hello and tell you that the E-8 board results came out today and GUESS WHO'S NAME WAS ON IT!!!! (Yippy)

Seems to me you're the obvious choice....I'm sure Lisa Rose, Kerry & Scouty would second that motion........0

Stacy and Bob, I second that motion entirely!!! I know enough about computers and setting up websites to really do some major damage. I think the website would be GREAT though. Good idea!StacyGleaso said:Seems to me you're the obvious choice....I'm sure Lisa Rose, Kerry & Scouty would second that motion........

Are you saying I'M the obvious choice?! I'd be glad to do it (but again, it won't be until June ...). I even just had an idea for a "SemiColon Hall of Fame" to commemorate those of us who are no longer with us. I guess it's probably obvious that I thought of this after all of the posts I've been reading about Andrea, and although I never got to know her I find myself really sad about her death and profoundly sorry that I never did get to know her. So ... I did a little research, because I wanted to get an idea what she was like, and I went waaayyyyy back in the posts to find her first post ever to the CSN Colorectal Cancer board.StacyGleaso said:Seems to me you're the obvious choice....I'm sure Lisa Rose, Kerry & Scouty would second that motion........

Hi! I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer in January of this year. I underwent radiation and chemo(5FU), followed by a surgery which included a colostomy and a partial vaginectomy. I finished my post-operative in mid-September. Two weeks later, I had a CT scan which came back positive. Further testing revealed 11 suspected malignant lesions in the lung (all less than one centimeter) and one spot on the liver. I'm only 21, confused and scared. My doctor is telling me to wait until January to proceed with treatment. What should I do???

And, along the way, I saw a few other initial posts from some familiar "faces".

I am new to this board and wondering if there are any of you who have had success with alternative treatments. I am currently forgoing the adjuvant chemo and instead am focusing on boosting my immune system, detoxing, taking many many supplements, juicing veggies and have gone totally vegan. I also go for weekly acupuncture/massage,lymph drainage, essential oils and counseling. I have chosen this route after much prayer and watching my sister die after this very same cancer was diagnosed--adenocarcinoma. She did cut, burn, poison. Then died. Hoping to hear from other alternative seekers.

This is my situation as I had rectal cancer surgery just over a year ago. Is there anyone out there in a similiar situation? What chemo/rad treatment did you have?

08:47 AM EDT HOW TO USE THE CHAT ROOM IN 25 WORDS OR ... [reply]
For those of you who have heard the buzz of how cool the chat room is, you're right! It's all that and more! However, learning how to "enter" the room is sometimes intimidating, as well as impossible...so here's what you do:
(1) Click on the Chat Room Category on the home page.
(2) Be prepared to wait for up to 2 minutes, while it "allows" you to "enter".
(3) Once in, your name will flash on the screen, and then it will be added to the list of people in the room which is located to the right, in a column, next to the "big box" which displays the dialogue.
(4) Just below the "big box" is a thin line/box region. Click on that box, and write what you want to say. Then, hit "enter."
(5) Your message will display in the "big box" above, in the order in which it was received.
Now...sometimes the dialogue is flying so fast, it's hard to keep up, or talk to the person you want to. In cases like that, double click on the person you'd like to talk to. You will be re-directed to a small box in the top left corner of your screen. The same rules apply to chat: type your message in the smaller box under the box in the corner. Only the person you double-clicked on will see your message. When you want to return to the group chat room, simply hit the "x" in the corner of the smaller box to close that window.
There...did that help? By the looks on your faces, you still seem a little uncertain! However, print this, and try it out. It will open you up to meeting people who can relate to you and what your going through, and offer a world of support and understanding!
Hope to see you all there,
Stacy

There are probably other times when familiar people replied to posts authored by other members, but these are the earliest posts I found that were "introductory" in nature. It's really strange to go back to the earliest posts, because there are so many unfamiliar screen names, but so many of the same issues we still face. And it's also interesting to see people from four or five years ago asking about "new" drugs that are standard treatment today.
Anyway, if no one works on a website before I get back from Istanbul, then I'll happily start on one some time in June.

This is great.
I loved going back and seeing people currently on the board having posted so long ago. But it also made me sad to see so many unrecognized names - some I am sure have just drifted away, but others are probably gone. This disease sucks and is hard to take sometimes.

Back then I spent my time in the Chat Room because the boards were NOT active at all. It's was pretty lonely in here then. But then they changed the chat room format and I couldn't get in anymore (I'm sure they breathed a sigh of relief! haha) so I spent my time back in here.
It was in the Chat Room that the term Semi-Colon was first used....my hubby made it up and it stuck.
Just thought you may like that tidbit of trivia.
