I can't think of a more perfect song! "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor is great. Although, there's always "The Hokey Pokey"... you know, "you put your backside in"...."you shake it all about"... "that's what it's all about!"0

Well ... I used to work at a restaurant in midtown Atlanta, near Piedmont Park (which is the big city park here). I remember once there was a gay pride march that went right by the restaurant. I must have heard the song "I Will Survive" twenty or thirty times that day! So, I think that the song might already be associated with the gay pride movement. Of course, we could organize "colon pride" marches, complete with floats decorated to look like colons and hundreds of people marching down city streets wearing hospital gowns and pushing IV poles. But whenever I hear the song "I Will Survive" I think of the gay pride march that went right in front of the restaurant where I worked. At least I made over $300 in tips that day!0

Although I cannot erase those mental pictures Rodney forced me to paint, I like the "I Will Survive" themesong, however, with a spin on the lyrics.
(Sung to the tune "I Will Survive" made famous by Gloria Gaynor, and butchered by millions since then...)
First I was afraid, I was petrified.
Kept thinking "it" would somehow come and eat me up inside.
I didn't want to spend my nights just feeling sorry for myself;
I will not cry, I'll only hold my head up high!
IT WON'T COME BACK!
HELL NO! NO WAY!
I'll take a few more little steps towards getting "cured" each day!
I'll start to juice some healthy fruits and even juice some veggies too.
If it'll let me be here one more day to "party on" with you!
SO NOW GO!
Walk out of me!
Just leave my colon,
And all my organs happily!
I'll never go back to chemo,
No radiation, thanks, for me!
Because I'm moving on with life,
And it's the GREATEST victory!
(yeah, I really do have too much time on my hands sometimes! lol)
Take care,
Stacy
P.S. Great talking with you on Sunday!0 -
I love Stacy's lyrics!!!!!!!!!Wish it could be recorded!!!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!
Rodney,
You are a hoot. The song is also the "theme song" for most divorcees and broken hearted singles. But, their attraction to the song is totally different from ours.
I vote for it with Stacy's lyrics.

I may be going up to Jersey for Mother's Day weekend. If we do go out, I'll have someone bring they're camcorder.
