Starting Gemzar tomorrow. Stage 4 BC - reoccurance. Anyone have experience with it?

    No personal exerience either but a good friend in my Reach to Recovery group developed mets to her lungs about a year ago and has been on it ever since. She still has her hair, no nausea, and babysits grandkids every day. Her scans have been good. I'll pray your response is as positive as hers.

    Have you checked with ACS? Looked up Gemzar for sides, etc...pretty good descriptions here.
    Maybe call ACS, too....1-800-ACS2345.

    I am being treated with carboplatin and gemzar. My CA-125 was 882, after my first round of chemo it went down to 445. The side effects are a rash and hair thining. I wish you luck
