Jen, I know how you feel, but I have nothing to offer you or your dad other than my hope he can beat this (hope may be all we have).
I am new to these lists. My husband of 35 years was dxed with Esophageal Cancer spread to the liver, and not given much hope of lasting more than a year. He has been in the hospital 3 times in 3 months. I need a good source of information and support and haven't found any...Janice0 -
Jen, I was just today diagnosed with Stage IVa EC with possible mets to the Liver. I undergo an MRI on Friday. I am quite depressed about this but will continuw to pray for my family as well as all those that I have encountered here. God keep you and yours safe.

Iam 40 years old and was told I have EC that has mets in the liver July of this year. I have been through four chemo treatments. The chemo has been very bad, but I will not give up. I am going to beat this so I can see my three kids grow up.So please tell your dad to stay strong and have faith. I will pray for him. I really think that has helped me more than anything.0

esophageal cancer spread to liver
My husband had esophagel cancer and had the surgery, chemo, radiation and now 13 months later it has been found in the liver. The doctor is starting more chemo next week but has told us they can't cure it, only keep it from growing more (maybe) Has anyone ever survived this. My husband is 71 years old and otherwise was in very good health.0 -

grmjudy, I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. My heart goes out to both of you. I haven't had that cancer but wanted to let you know that you and your husband will be in my prayers! I'm sure that you will get the info you're looking for.
God bless you and take care.

Janice, I am truly sorry to hear about you husband. I'm sorry you need to be here but glad you've come. You will find lots of support here as well as make make friends who truly care about you and your husband AND have probably been down the same road as your husband. You will not only find support here but personal experience stories, you can vent here, cry on our shoulders, find complete understanding and just about anything else you may need as you and your husband go down this rough (but doable) road. You and your husband will be in my prayers and I'm also sending you a lot of best wishes. Please keep us posted on your husband's progress, we'd appreicate it. Also, please remember it will be just as important for you to take care of yourself so you will be able to take care of your husband :0)
God bless you and prayers being sent,

He is a very strong person but has gone through chemo and radiation, which has effected him physically and psychologically alot for a year.
At this point after a year almost when we all thought that it is kind of under control, it has shown a recurrence in Liver (as of reports March 14, 2013). Now he is very reluctant to go thru any other chemo or radiation therapy due to it's strong process and effects.
We do not know what to do at this point, saw these messages so contacting any one knows of herbal treatments, if they work, and other details if you could please share, would be a greatest favor on us.
GOD BLESS YOU,
Yasir
