Awwww, kangathong, what would we do without you?
But, I must admit, if I chat with someone for the first time, I check out the page, too. It's so frustration to keep everyone straight. I get a little frustrated when there isn't one.
I, too, HATE the fact that the beast still claims people....

Hi Kanga:
Definitely agree w/ you. A while back I suggested that we are allowed a group-wide info page with a care package for newbies, so that we don't have to re-write the tomes that we do each time when a newbie comes along. I contact the the ASN admin but they were hesitant to have anything that looks like advice, outside of a strictly personal chat. Spongebob recommended another web site we can do but alas I've just not had the time jogging working, chemo and tapeworm anecdotes. So I've been thinging the same exact thing, which is using our personal pages.
So I am off constructing my page now
Cheers,

I can understand your suggestion Ying but also understand the admins. position re; giving advice outside of chat or discussion rooms. In this day of libel problems their stance is understandable. The influx of new people here on CSN is welcome...it is just very hard to remember or note down relevant cancer info that allows us all to help as many as we can. The creation of personal webpages I personaly would encourage and I would find it beneficial and quick reference to help others.Sometimes I feel I cannot reply to someones post simply because I am unable to find their original dx and the treatment they have/had recvd.JADot said:Hi Kanga:

I am missing something. I have created a web page (no pics yet - sorry). But yesterday I went looking for a particular individual's web page and didn't see how to do that. I put the name in a search box and got nothing, forget all else I tried, but nothing worked. I am supposed to be computer saavy since software is my business, but I have missed something. Chemo brain? Maybe. Let me know how you would locate the web page for "kangatoo" for example. Then if it it doesn't work for me I'll contact Jose.
Thanks and sorry for sounding dumb - usually not a word that is applied to me, but I am stumped at the moment here.

You mentioned that you read my web page the other day . Well I didn't have one yet . You must of read Jerseysue web page . So today I created my own personal web page . You are right it is nice to go and read the personal web pages . Although I have the same problem as Besty .How do you go about finding someone's page . It took me all day of clicking on different peoples pages I just kept clicking on there friends list which finally took me to yours .Anyways I now have a web page (And my girlie parts). Athough my husband might say other wise as they just don't feel like coming out to play .
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS

I use the User Directory link.
Although, it is CASE sensitive.
Once I got this down, it leads directly to a user page.

Betsy...here's the link for my page;
http://www.acscsn.org/webpages/view?object_id=csn:rel:wallace435266688011077107602
As for others...click on "personal web pages" located to the left here in the menu. This will bring you onto a search page, then enter the members "pen name", ie for me "kangatoo", then hit search.
The only problem I encounter here is that sometimes the search will not work if the pen name is not typed correctly or capitals are used/not used....at least that is the problem I have.
Debralla,Betsydoglover,I tried both your pen names and get no response for a personal page. Have you used any other alternative spelling at all? Anyway for some reason typing a user name does not always get a person's page up, even if they do have one. For example, I am VERY sure "musiclover" has a page but I am unable to find it again? I just tried mine by typing in "kangatoo" and it works ok. Mmmmmm, maybe Jose has an answer to why some do and some don't come up.
Oh Jose.........."Houston, we have a problem!"0 -

See Personal Web Pages over on the top left, under Expressions Gallery? I go there, then enter kangatoo in the "Word or Phrase" box at the bottom, next to the Search button. Press the search button and voila.
Again, it is a CaSe-SeNsItIvE search though, but maybe that can be changed some day. This will sometimes fail for reasons I have yet to determine, but usually works.0
