Dear Sue,
We all react differently to trauma (and breast cancer is trauma), but I really think you should contact your oncologist and tell her/him this. This feeling may be due to a side-effect of any drugs you may need to take, but please don't live another day without telling someone who will know what to do. Please don't accept this as normal.
Hoping you find joy in life really soon.
Hugs.

Well I hope you aren't like me and had poor Quality to your life for years after treatments because this will only exaserbate those feelings.
I have to say that until I finally felt well did I finally feel like I had a life worth living and now I am here to say that this life of mine is allot of hard work. We get out what we put in and finding ones passion as I have changes everything. I am here to say though things will never be the same I am finally seeing how much better they can be. I accept that what I was doing before wasn't working because I got cancer so was willing to change everything and did it with myself finally in mind.
Be good to yourself always,

Hi there. I agree with Tara and Lesley. I think you should tell your oncologist exactly how you feel. Be precise in your description. As far as getting out of life what we put in... that also goes for seeking proper treatment. There are good counselors to talk too and a lot of very effective medicines that can help you overcome your feelings. God bless.24242 said:Well I hope you aren't like me and had poor Quality to your life for years after treatments because this will only exaserbate those feelings.

Hi Sue,
Glad to see You around. After everything we go through with cancer it's hard to find joy,an immense feeling of happiness.I think it speaks volumes, the fact that You recognize something was missing. We are all blessed in many ways but it makes a big difference when we can experience joy.Now that You know what is missing, You can look for it.Joy comes in many sizes and disguises-so keep Your eyes open so You may see and Your heart so You may feel, don't let life pass You by,play an active part.
It's good to hear from You friend,it brighten my day and brought me a piece of joy today.:-)Hope to see You again soon.
Hugs and blessings,

I agree with sue....I look for something every day to laugh about. I'm working on my breast cancer, having survived colon cancer last year that had 37% survival rate, 8 month survival time. Its now a year and I'm still alive and kickin! Part of it may be a let down (I know this sounds wierd) that for so long you had a focus, allbeit a horrible one, and now suddenly you are free to look toward the future. But don't expect joy to smack you in the face....sometimes its just finding beauty in a flower, or a bird singing....yuck, I'm getting sickening!!!!mssue said:Hi Sue,

Take life with a sense of humor, and a day at a time. And feel good that you beat the monster....I'm thankful every day that I have.

I remember we were diagnosed about the same time...nice to hear from you, too.
I bought a couple of puppies to keep my mind occupied. I am seaching for things which will bring me joy.

A couple ladies suggested some reading material to help me. One book speaks about calling on your angels to help...well, I believe in angels so this will help. One of my doctors wasn't too eager to put me on more meds which is fine with me.
Hugs,
