I feel on top of everything today and am hoping for great results from today's CAT scan. I can honestly say to all of you, that over the 12 and a bit years I have gone weeks at a time not even thinking about it at all. It is only when a loved one is lost or you are feeling unwell that the dreaded C comes back to haunt. I have a few health problems at the moment which is the reason why I am going through all these tests, but deep down I do not think it is the return of cancer, but I will wait until I get results next week. My Mum battled this disease for 11 years, my only brother lost his fight after 4 years at age 42. I have been blessed with 12 years at this stage, and our first grandchild is due to be born in 3 weeks, I inteed to be here for a lot more years yet. I started with colon cancer with a big met to the liver which was resected at the same time. I had 1 year of weekly 5fu plus levamisol, which I will never take again, but it cured me. Every time we drench our stock with something that contains levamisol, I just feel so sorry for them, Ross you know what I mean. I do not know if it is still being used today, but I can still smell it after all this time and I will never take it again. So so sorry this is so long, but I think some of you may have not realised my cancer history so I just wanted to let you know where I am coming from. Please have some compassion on the days that some of us are feeling weak, we are not like that all the time, just being human. Love Virginia.

    Of course we have compassion and understand - or try to. I applaud you for having a few eeks without a cancer thought. I look forward to it. But having your family so entrenched in colon cancer is something which I am not familiar with as well. I know that you have endured an increible amount. The fact that work with livestock somehow brings the feelings that much closer. I do so much hope that your newest scan is perfectly clear. Wishing you all the best thoughts coming your way - Maura

    Hi, I thought I better just say my Mum's primary was breast, and my brother's was lung, so we were all different. Virginia.

    G'day Virginia, Good luck today. I know what you mean about levamisole. I was one of a group of three having it at the same time. We used to talk about our levamisole week and non levamisole week. I have never felt that bad in my life ,either before or since. The change in taste made it even worse and such tiny little tablets ,I used to take 3 a day for three days after chemo every second week. The only positive, and it is a biggy ,is that you have been ca free for 12 years amd me for 8 but I can sure understand why you never see a smiling cow! Let us know the results ,all the best Ron.

    Virginia you're an inspiration! Wow, stage IV and 12 years later, you're here to show us that there is life after colon cancer!
