Hi there,
I'm on my 2nd week of radiation and getting a little burnt. Does anyone have advise for what to wear? I can't imagine not wearing a bra to work! Does anyone have suggestions for comfy bras?
thanks!

have you tried a soft knit sport bra? I also used(pure) Shea butter on my burn..relieved the burning and I did not peel like a burn would. I also wore a sweatshirt. They are soft inside.

Victoria's Secret has some nice all cotton bras and demi-bras that I wore during early radiation treatments. Also, Jockey has some nice cotton undershirts that are somewhat form-fitting and can be worn in place of a bra. I still wear mine on cold days for warmth.

I was told to put nothing rubber or latex next to my skin so watch the fibers. All cotton was what I was advised, but I decided again bras all together until after. Use the creams every day or two or three times a day. I used pure aloe (no other ingrediants except water) that I got from a health store and it worked pretty good. I also used Sween cream. I got pretty burned toward the end but didn't blister or peel. I worked at keeping my skin moist and cooled as best I was able.

Lisa, I just remembered.... at the tlc web site they had a support system (a little less than a bra but more than a Tshirt) especially for radiation you should check it out.

Like you, there was absolutely no way I could go to work without a bra. I work at a financial services firm - very corporate and very male. Victoria's Secret had a very good cotton bra. What I also did was to buy some nice cotton fitted undershirts and then I wore these under the bra to lessen the effect of the straps and bands. It sort of worked. I burned but that was more about my skin type (very, very fair) than what I wore or what I used on my skin -- I used everything from pure aloe to the prescription cream they gave me. Good luck.
