There is a great Yahoo site with people just like you surviving anal cancer who also have hpv or hiv look into yahoo.com under the section GROUPS then type in anal_cancer (that's anal with an underline then cancer). 300 members for this 6 year old list serve and about 500 postings on the average month. I'm almost a 4 year survivor of anal cancer as of 20060

Luis,
I am a 35yr old woman with anal carcinoma in situ vin III. I have a wonderful doctor by the name of Dr. Wu that is with the Cleveland Clinic. He has a new procedure that does not involve resecting or colostomy. It is a series of surgeries every two months and then chemo/radiation combo. I start this friday. He is well versed in HIV patients and actually trained in California and New York in the gay society. I am not a male or gay, but he is the only one that would take on my case do to his training. Please give him a call.0 -
Here is the first thing you need to understand about a cancer cell. It is a cell with amnesia. It's a cell that is cut of from the brain and no longer in communication with the rest of the body. Get a cluster of these together and you have Lord of the Flies at the cellular level.
There is a compound out there that brings order back to these cells and essentially makes the cell remember or even realize what is was designed to do immediately upon contact. The cell that once lacked purpose and was destructive begins to act and behave with order submitting to the body's authority.
This is wild stuff I realize. As out there as it sounds if a cancer cell does an about face and aligns itself with the same purpose of the body it lives in it immediately stops being destructive.
Cheers!
James

hello. i just finished recovering from anal cancer and treatments and pain. although i am not an expert i would certainly get a second professional opinion. the agony of this condition i know is discouraging, but always think positively and hold tight to your faith, and literally give it to him as u shall come through unscathed. Be confident when u decide. Check out all options.0

I had anal/sphincter cancer which I am happy to say I am free and clear
However, I had side effects of blowing a fistula and would like to know if someone else has this condition and what they are doing about it?0 -
Hi, I have had breast cancer, but didnt have a mastectomy, i understood that survival is the same either way, or depending on individual cases some need a mastectomy some women dont, i also had anal cancer 2 yrs ago, and doing well, i go each year for my colonoscopy. So far so good, i also would like to ask you, after they radiated your anal cancer, did they radiate your pelvic organs also? Thats what they did to me, and said i would go into menopause, for 1 yr and 8 mths i had no bleeding, but this passed Nov, i noticed i had spotting, to this day, i have it, on and off, and they gynos, are trying to get a biopsy of my uterus and cant, because of the radiation i had to the outside of the pelvic, are you having this problem? i havent been diagnosed since Nov, because they cant get to this uterus, i would appreciate your response, or any questions you may have for me...thanks!youwannaname said:hi- am a 51 yr old woman who has had breast cancer with mastectomy(DCIS) and anal cancer.
