Anyone else gone through T/A/C combined? I'm at 7 months and leg pain and walking worse some days. Yesterday I could hardly walk. A friend told me to "BUTCH UP!" and I hated hearing it but I got MAD enough to tell myself FIGHT BACK. But Thank God I had extra Pain meds at my desk at work or I'da gone home sick.
What do you guys do for your pain?
I take a lot of hot baths and use "Capsaicin" cream made from hot peppers.
Is it going to take a full year? Not too many women have had all 3 chemo drugs at once. Any response is appreciated.
Hang in there all and God Bless.
Kathy

    hi kathy.
from my experience it does get better.and yes it does take a yr or more.I still have problems with leg pain and numbness..drives me nuts! I started to takeGLUCOSAMINE 500MG/CHONDROITIN 400MG. That seems to help me alot. But always check with your doctor. Praying you find relief.

Hi, sorry to hear you're having this trouble. I've been there. (I'm 2 years out of dx.) I had AC and then 4 rounds of Taxol. After AC everyone told me Taxol would be a breeze. I know everyone is different. It wasn't easy for me. I had acute joint pain a day or two after the infusion, with radiating pain down my legs. I tried otc meds, but they didn't work. I never took prescription meds for the pain then, but looking back, I probably should have asked for them - but the pain lessened after a day or so after the infusion. Also, I complained to my doc who ordered a medrol dose pack (steroids) for a few days after each subsequent round of Taxol. This made me feel much better. Also, I don't agree with your friend telling you to "butch up" - what a unsympathetic thing to say. When you have pain, tell your doc. Don't try to be a hero. I still have neuropathy in my feet, but they are no longer painful, just kind of numb still. It doesn't bother me anymore. You will get through it. Hang in there!

    Hi Chessie,
Thanks for the response and even though my legs are starting to feel better with Acupuncture and I still have my pain meds, it is this website that has so much information that we can share among us. And now I know it will be a while so, I sleep a lot on the weekends. I just got that TENS machine with the little electrodes, and being simliar to Acupuncture it has a setting for Acupressure and sends constant soothing currents to my lower back.
Still take Mycomedicinal Mushrooms for joint pain and immune system from New Chapter.
Adjusting to the fact it will take time.
    You're response is greatly appreciated.
    :-) Kathy
