You are all so wonderful. Thank you so much for the thoughtful notes! Makes me smile to see them.. I keep going back to my post and reading.
I got a Champion juicer at Ebay for $106!! Hurray! I should get it this week.
Just wanted to let you all know about the deals on Ebay. Keep in mind, I don't have it in my hands yet... there may be some problems. BUT, we are all internet savy, and I am all for saving money. jana

Jana:
I am so glad you are feeling so great! It is a relief to know how much you love and trust your medical team.
I love juicing. I too feel like I am constantly on a better nutrition search. Unfortunately, I beat myself up when I am not "good". The only thing i hate with juicing is that my ileostomy pouch gets very icky with the output from the juice. It may be very different with your colostomy. I get orange liquid output for hours and it leaks a lot on my underwear. It filters through the little bend in the pouch because it is so liquidy.
I mainly do carrots, apple, beets. I added ginger today and liked it, but be careful, a little goes a long way! sometimes i add spinach or celery. and barleans greens.
I am open to discussing this nutrition issue anytime. I have thought about going more drastic (Kushi macrobiotics, etc.) but now just try to do all organic unless we eat out or something, no beef, free range chicken, fish a couple of times a week, a big salad everyday. lots of root veggies like radish, daikon radish, carrots, turnips, beets along with spinach and peppers. unfortunately i have to avoid nuts because of my ostomy. i eat lots of fruit and yogurt but do have an egg almost every morning. i think miso is great, but have an aversion to it after my short stint with the kushi diet after surgery. i add flax oil and wheat germ to food when i can remember ( i swear this chemo makes me forget everything. i find weird items in the fridge and stuff). anyway, we can be nutrition adventurers together if you like. write or call anytime!!! i think of you daily and send energy your way! i know you will beat this. you are such an inspiration for me. you are fabulous!
love,

Jana you are going to love the juicer. I've been using mine daily. I have a veggie juice in the morning (when I have time) and something sweeter in the evening. Even my kids are pulling out the fruit in the fridge and asking me to make them so juice can't beat that! Sue0
