Has anyone heard of the cyber knife. (It is a little different than the gamma knife used for brain tumors). It is a fine beam of radiation that can "cut" around a tumor without needing margins. It is supposed to be excellent for tumors on major blood vessels. My mother has a solitary liver met that is growing. Her oncologist says he's pretty much at the end of the list for chemo options. I've investigated the cyber knife and they are doing livers at USC Norris Cancer Center. This is a non-invasive procedure. No surgery involved. You go home the same day! Has anyone heard of it?

Hi - not sure what are you talking about...perhaps SRT ( stereotactic(sp?) radiation therapy??,,if so - it is supposed to be better than radio frequency ablation...it is in trials here in Canada

Don't know anything about it, but here are a couple of websites - one from manufacturer and two from clinics that use it. Seems to have been developed for brain and CNS tumors, but also seems to be usable under some circumstances for other metastatic lesions.
