My colon cancer wasn't as severe as yours, but I had the opportunity to also experience lung cancer at the same time. Hang in there. The Cemo can get you down, but a few weeks after you stop taking that stuff most if not all the side efrfects go away. Atleat that was my experience.0

Hi Kim!!!
Hang in there!!! The chemo can be very rough, but try to keep a positive attitude. We all have so much to live for. Family, friends...these are reasons to endure this. Also, I think it is so important that you get back to work to let you know that you can. It also makes things seem more normal. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Terri0 -
Hey there, Kim -
I'm anothjer hereditary colon cancer person - although I have HNPCC versus your FAP. As I recall your type of cancer is characterized by hundreds of polyps throughout the colon, right? I had a good friend who was Dxed with FAP and they did a therapeutic hemicolectemy on him - since he didn't have active cancer they just removed about 2 feet of colon so that there would be less area for any FAP cancer to afflict.
Glad to know you're feeling better and back to work. Keep on truckin' as you say!
Be well

Hi Kim,
I am also a semi-colon. My cancer wasn't as bad as your but had part of my colon remove on my birthday in December. I am glad you are getting back to work. I am still going to work and going to see the onc for the fist time 2/7/06. I am amazed how loved people at work make me feel. Everyone is pulling for me. I still work full time right now and when I start chemo I am going to continue to work as long as possible.
My mother-in-law has chrones disease and after they took out a large part of her bowels she had an ileostomy bag. She had it quite a while and then was able to get it reversed. She is wonderful now and is hard to keep down. If you ever want to talk, e-mail me. I will be keeping you in my thoughts. Sending good vibes your way.
