Hello All, After the second session of my current treatment regimen I'm having a really hard time staying awake. It's been three days since the infusion. I suspect my nausea med which is Finergan. Any of you had a similar side effect ? Any suggestions ? thanks.

Fatigue can be really heavy; and it seemed to hit me hardest about four to five days after the infusion (and end of my two-day pump). I was down a lot during chemo. Check with your doc. There are different nausea drugs to choose from, but I really don't know what the culprit might be for your tiredness. It is really hard going into this so blind - not knowing which side effects will hit and how. All the best to you and I wish you the best - Maura0

Hi Bill.assuming your spelling is incorrect the drug would indeed be phenergan which has many side effects, one being drowsiness. Coupled with your treatment, the fatigue that is normal with cancer treatment I would guess that phenergan is the culprit. For nausea I was taking metoclopramide(brand name in OZ is PRAMIN) which is a common nausea drug used here...and quite good I might add with little effect on sleep(my opinion only)staceyp said:It is most likely the Phenergan. I take it sometimes when I can't sleep. It always knocks me out. I'm sure your doctor can give you something else if you ask.
Look here for info on drugs and other usefull stuff;
