Survivor with Stage 4 friend

I'm a 5 yr. survivor who is trying to help a dear friend recently diagnosed with IDC with bone mats. She is terrified she will die soon. Her brain lung and liver scans were negative. Anyone out there with advice on what I can say or do to help her feel more positive? She's only 42 and was a very upbeat, strong person. Any advice is most appreciated.

Tell your friend that this can be beaten.
Breast cancer to the bone is not the same as bone cancer. Oddly enough it is still breast cancer, it's just in the bone.
I've had bone mets for 4 1/2 years and glory be to God I am still here! I just have the places "spot welded" (treated with radiation) and keep going.
Wish her the best, especially comfort and peace, fear is your worst enemy.
May God bless you both.

Your friend needs someone she just talk to since that is something that we all should be doing. MOST of us still try and spare everyone round us from our pain and often are distant and down right lie about how we truly feel. I suppose trust can be part of it.
Your friend needs to know that many people have incredible rare froms of cancer with no treatments available to them and they are still here many years into their fight. Education is a big thing and knowing what you have control over and what you do not can be somewhat freeing.
You are a good friend and she will see that too.
